I am sorry this is long over do! I rarely leave reviews and when I do they are not positive .It is rare that you find a person as honest and reliable as Dave Johnson! From the first time we meet I knew the man had integrity. I used him first as a rental agent and then as a realtor to sell the property his attention to detail gets the job the done! He always took my calls and responded to emails in a timely matter.
Look no further then Gaskill Realty !

David at Gaskill Realty is the best landlord I’ve ever had. Truly, the only reason I moved away was because I had to - I think I would’ve rented from him and his family until I purchased my own home. From the beginning, David was extremely communicative (answers all my calls or texts within minutes), my rent was very reasonably priced, all repairs were addressed immediately, and the property was stunning. I have nothing bad to say about my rental experience & would do it all over again if I could. David & team, thank you so much for helping me feel so at home in Raleigh. I look forward to working together again in the future!

My experience with Gaskill Realty was the worst renting experience I've ever had (May-June 2023).I moved into a house that they had just bought and flipped. They wanted me to move in as soon as possible and I needed to move quickly. They assured me that all the renovations would be complete by move in. They were not complete and I had to interface with the contractors for those renovations to be completed.The sewer line busted the first time I tried to run a load of laundry (no one even tried to fix it before I moved out several weeks later). Trash and piles of cat litter was strewn across the back yard. But the worst of it was the house itself was not livable.It had a terrible odor that permeated throughout the entire home and made me physically ill. This was after I had left all the windows open for an entire week when it was 90 degrees outside. And this wasn't the distinct smell of cat pee in the kitchen or cigarette smoke in the bathroom, but something else that I was unable to identify. Mold? Cockroaches? Who knows, and the owners clearly didn't care. I had to stay with a friend for a month while I found another rental property.Because this company doesn't respect its renters by making sure its property was move in ready, I spent over $1000 on moving costs and countless hours of packing, unpacking, re-packing and unpacking again. Also countless hours of laundry I had to do to wash all my clothes and bedding and dog toys to get the smell of the house out. It made me feel like they had no respect for their renters.They did allow me to end the lease without penalty (likely because they already knew the house had issues and they were hoping I wouldn't notice or care) and they did refund my security deposit and rent payments (thankfully, since I was only able to stay in the house for a week). After I let them know about the odor, they acknowledged that they still wanted to clean out the HVAC ductwork (again, something that should have been done before renting out the property). But I can't get back that time and it completely turned my life upside down for a month. Again, this goes to show how little regard they have for renters.All I can say is definitely do not rent a property from them that does not already have rental history.

I leased an apartment from David right outside NCSU from December 2022-end of December 2023. The entire application process to rent with him was easy and straightforward. He also made paying rent really easy through an app, even when I was splitting with a roommate. His maintenance team was very helpful and always helped out, even when the plumbing went crazy or if a screw was loose on a mirror cabinet. David was east to reach and the property was well maintained. Would definitely recommend!

I’ve been in several apartments over the years moving from Montana to North Carolina. David - is/was by far the best leasing manager I’ve had. He communicates, is understanding, & is genuine (10/10). Leased with him for just over a year, and only relocated for more space. Maintenance requests were addresses asap with proper communication to follow up. Highly recommend leasing under Glaskill Realty.

I rented a house managed by David and it was a great experience overall.The whole process since signing the lease, the communication, the quick response to fixing all the minor repairs that came up throughout the duration of the lease, and all the way to returning the house and getting the deposit back was smooth.I definitely would recommend David for any real state service, renting or buying, he is very knowledgeable, honest and responsive!
