Wes, Dr. Gorden and Dr Wages are awesome. Wes is so knowledgeable and kind and it’s amazing to have such experienced and dedicated techs and doctors. I love this place.

I’m sorry, it used to be five stars.
We have been coming to this place since 90s and have seen some major transformation of this location. Things have changed dramatically: quality of service, billing problems, misdiagnosed major problems, and services by not confident doctor. Thank you for your service for this long, but it is time to move on for us. Very disappointed. Sorry Dr. Gordon.

We have dogs, rabbits, and now a cat! And Carefirst has been amazing with all our pets. Dr Wages is my favorite. Plus they take the SPCA voucher for spay/neuter and almost always have last minute appointments for urgent issues. I recommend Carefirst & Dr Wages to everyone!!!!

Great place for pet care. I had my bunny neutered here. The whole process went smoothly, from check-in to pick up. The staff were friendly and caring. The facility is very clean, and big for pets.

We had a great experience today at Carefirst Oberlin as we always do! Our two Goldens came in for their Bordetella so they interacted with just staff today and we could not have felt more taken care of. Our favorite tech is Luis who was the first staff person we ever met at Carefirst almost two years ago when we switched from Hayes Barton to Carefirst. Luis has a special love for Goldens (in addition to all other breeds) so from the very first time our girls met Luis he has a been their favorite. Maybe it’s because he always makes them feel special (which makes us feel special too). Today we had a different tech to administer the shots (who was great, by the way) but as soon as Luis heard we were there he came right out and spent some time with our girls who just loved it. Luis we appreciate you so much especially your calming demeanor when around our very excited Goldens! We will keep coming back not just for the experienced care but the loving care. Thanks Luis!

This is my first and last visit with the Oberlin location. I told them in advance that my dog has severe anxiety and requires a lot of patience when caring for him. I did not realize they had 2 locations and my appt was for Glenwood, so when I arrived and realized I was at the wrong one, they told me they would take my dog in at Oberlin instead. I was greeted by the male vet tech in the parking lot with "Uhh, I forgot the dogs name, just come with me." That should have been my sign to leave.
Not only did the tech have zero respect for me or my dog and the fact that he was in a lot of pain from his ear infection and has major anxiety, but my dog now has a busted blood vessel in his eye, probably from extremely high levels of stress. He never once greeted my dog, spoke to him, or even so much as pet him. He very clearly wanted to do his job and leave.
I'm very concerned for how they treated my dog when they had him in a separate room considering the male vet tech we were unfortunately working with has 0 empathy and doesn't even act like he enjoys working with animals. As soon as he brought him back to me he dropped his leash on the floor, said he was terrible and walked out the room.
My dog has never been a fan of the vet, but this isn't our first time going to one for an ear infection and yet it has never gone this bad. There were 0 attempts made to make him more comfortable and relaxed and he immediately got annoyed with my dog when things didn't go as simple as he would have liked. It also didn't help he tried to force his head still to swab his ear and acted shocked when my dog made it clear he needed to back off. I have never seen my dog snap at a vet or vet tech before despite his anxiety, but I can honestly say I'm not surprised he felt he needed to advocate for himself.
Luis, if you don't have the patience to work with animals with high levels of anxiety, you shouldn't be working in this field. I have never had a vet visit go that terrible and now I have his eye to be concerned about. You have contributed to why my dog feels so uncomfortable at the vet.

This is an updated review to say five years later we still love Care First on Oberlin!! Always quick to answer the phone, emails and text messages. Staff remembers my dog and is super friendly and accommodating! Dr. Wages is fantastic as well as every ?? single ?? vet ?? tech ?? we have encountered! My dog and myself are always very happy with the care here.

My GrandDog, Sadie had her spay procedure with Dr.Tori Consol, Fantastic experience. Very straightforward, friendly and helpful staff. My dog is having a smooth recovery, and the cost was affordable. Would highly recommend. They provide a wonderful service. I also very rarely ever leave a review BUT the care my Sadie Girl received and the partnership Care First Animal Hospital has with the community is OUTSTANDING! Thank you for truly helping me with my Sadie Doo and Thank you for supporting the SPCA COMMUNITY OUTREACH RESCUES. Y’all are the BEST, sincerely, Rebecca Brown

I loved my experience here. I brought my cat in for a routine exam. The vet/tech discussed with me how much it would be first based on everything that I wanted done and any concerns that I had. The price was very reasonable and not too expensive. They were gentle, caring, and thorough. Everyone was so nice. The place was clean from the waiting room and especially the exam room! I no longer live in the area but sometimes I wish I did just so I could bring my cat back here. They are amazing. I am leaving this review 2 years later. Obviously they made a lasting impression.

Dr. Consol provides the best care for our dog, Blue. He has anxiety issues but she is always patient with him. She also did his neuter with a surgery for his cherry eye. She knew we were nervous, so she made sure we were well-informed on our options. Blue has not had a reappearance of the cherry eye or any issues with his eye at all since the surgery last year! Doggy day care here is also wonderful. Can’t recommend Carefirst enough :)

Not sure what’s going on after the renovation but wait times are absurdly long ever since the move. Had to switch vets.
