This place used to be a good option for good materials although a little bit on the expensive side. Now their products are the same garbage you get at Home Depot or Lowe's. And when they sell you an expensive piece of trimboard that's twisted, they don't honor a credit or anything to try to make it right.

Capitol city lumber Co has been fantastic. I live in New England and have not visited the store so I can't speak to that aspect, but every part of ordering from them has been great. I was having trouble finding what I needed locally, and requested a quote. Kim was kind, responsive, and knowledgeable, she was helpful and patient even though I had a very small order. Lumber arrived quickly and is of good quality, exactly what I needed. Prices are extremely reasonable, even with shipping up to New England. Great experience all around and highly recommend.

i had just called around 1138 am and a gentleman had answered. i was inquiering about some wood and asking for some suggestions. than he rudely suggested i just bring her in to see. i had brought to his intentions earlier that it was going to be a surprise. Being the lead lumber place i was hoping for a more professional customer service and knowledge but he hung up on me. Not very friendly and very rude. I will try to go in person but so far i am highly disssapointed. this place was highly recommended

Wow!! Need lumber or building supplies? Capital City Lumber Co is the place to go!The staff is friendly and super helpful! I went in looking for trim, and they took the time to determine exactly what I needed.The selection of building materials is unbelievable ... It seems if you need it, they'll have it.I highly recommend Capital City Lumber Co. I'll be back!

Building new home and wanted some 6x6x10’ treated turned posts for porch. No one in Texas turns treated, go figure. Dealt with Kim via e-mail, she told me since shipping was costly, they only accept certified check or wire transfer. I was somewhat hesitant, as this was a leap of faith on my part, nearly 5k total! She gave me wire instructions and their bank confirmed they been around long time, that eased my mind a little. After a week, she e-mailed me and said, she got posts, but there no way she send them to me cuz they looked like “something cat threw up”, I loved it! She looking out for what they sending. She got replacements fairly quick and I received my 15 beautiful posts. Nice to deal w people who do what they say gonna do! Thx Kim

First time doing business with these guys and they didn’t explain that when you get a board and they cut it for you that even if they mess up, they will not fix it. When I talked to the manager eventually she was very kind and fixed the problem while educating me on their process. Just beware that this is not a place to go if you are not an experienced carpenter.

They have a vast collection of different woods and wood products. The downside is they are incredibly expensive. I bought plywood from them and had it cutdown. They cut it 3/8 short which wasted my money and the wood. Terribly disappointed

My first stop when looking lumber. The selection is replenished (at least what I buy) multiple times a week, and you cannot beat how awesome the staff is. Special shout out to Nolan at the desk for always being so helpful. Highly recommend checking them out for anything you need.
