“Been using FrameWorks for years. They are great people who care about the product you are buying. I recently brought in a bit of a "weird" request and they were very happy to figure it out for me. Always happy to recommend Frameworks to whomever needs a frame shop.”

“Great place to stop in and peruse for a special gift that isn't mass produced in China. The place is full of treasures! They also do classes for crafters to learn and be creative. Love the vibe!”

“ArtSpace is an extremely well thought out and executed space for artists of all kinds. There’s something to look at everywhere. Even the building is beautiful and historic. They rotate the exhibits and artist, so you really get an immersive experience every time you visit. The team is extremely welcoming and friendly, and made up of mostly creatives themselves. This is one of the most inspiring places in Raleigh North Carolina.”

“Wonderful local contemporary art space. It is a bit small but, the space is very intimate and allows for a lot of contemplation and conversation. I definitely enjoyed the experience. Located downtown so parking can be a bit tight at times. Definitely worth a visit if you want to engage with some interesting works in a wonderful local space.”

“Paul Gala’s artwork is not only beautiful, dramatic and interesting; he makes selecting, purchasing and receiving his painting a pleasure. His “Promise of a New Day” was a perfect 50th Anniversary gift for my husband.”

“I had a very small project by comparison to those that I think this company typically does. Yet they were willing to take it on and they delivered in spectacular fashion. Mr. **** is a pleasure to deal with. I've brought them another project.”

“My visit to 311 Art Gallery in Downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, was genuinely exceptional, accompanied by a compelling story. On that day, I had an underlying determination. I wanted to donate a piece of my mother's artwork to the gallery because it was a hobby I knew she loved.I made my way downtown Raleigh, driven by an inner feeling that prompted me to act that early morning. Upon arriving at 311 Art Gallery, I was unaware of the entry fee to submit a piece of artwork for display. I explained to Kenneth, co-owner of the gallery, what I was trying to accomplish, and to my surprise, the entry fee was waived. And so, weeks later, I waited until my mother visited the Raleigh area to surprise her with what I had done. I suggested that we visit 311 Art Gallery, and to her amazement, she discovered her painting among the displays. Witnessing her artwork being accepted and displayed in such a reputable gallery was an emotional moment, with her saying, “You have made my day.” It brought a new spark to her eyes. The surrealism she experienced has thus motivated her to continue exploring her artistic talents with renewed passion and enthusiasm, painting three pieces since the visit.Overall, 311 Art Gallery's commitment to supporting artists and fostering creativity is commendable. This experience has left a lasting impact on my family, inspiring my mother to embrace her artistic voice and continue painting. It was honestly a transformative and memorable visit to the gallery.Thank you, 311 Art Gallery*Included are my mother’s most recent paintings”

“Fish Market is a student-run gallery, owned by NC State's College of Design. Pieces displayed are determined by submissions from students, and themes vary from month-to-month. Gallery shows are always free and open to the public. It's open every first friday of the month (aka First Friday), from 6pm to 11pm. During First Friday, there's usually a sign in front of the stairway with an arrow pointing towards the stairs. The gallery is a bit *hidden*. It's on the corner of Hargett Street and Fayetteville Street -- with the CVS across the way. If you spot the downward stairway, you've found the right spot. On First Fridays, you'll typically see a mass of bikes lined up along the outside, and a group of college kids clustered around the entrance. The stairway is a bit narrow -- it's hard for more than two person to be going up/down in either direction, so be careful. It always gets a bit *stuffy* inside, since it's a small space. So if you're dressed warmly, be prepared to take your jacket or you'll be retreating outside for cooler air. This gallery is usually packed shoulder-to-shoulder on First Fridays since it's a hip, popular spot for college kids. There's usually a DJ playing some cool beats, snacks, and free wine/beer (must be 21+). You also can pick up a custom button (pin) or screen-printed handkerchief (Fish Market themed) for a couple bucks (NOT free). Be sure to drop in each month to check out the design work! I also highly recommend attending the Art and Design Senior Shows each year to check out the portfolios of these graduating seniors! A bit fancier than the normal shows, in terms of the amount of booze and food spread (one time there was a keg or two).”

“This is, hands down, the coolest Science Museum I've ever been to!Dinosaur bones, rocks and minerals, fish, foliage! Pretty much anything you could think of was there, and even the things you'd never think of were there. One of the most incredible parts was the Research side! You definitely don't want to skip going across the bridge to the Research Center. You're able to be there for different animal checkups and observe the vets talking care of the animals. We actually had the chance to see a live snake surgery! The staff was awesome. Everyone was so positive and you could tell they all loved their jobs. Especially those giving demonstrations and helping the kids learn something new!And the most shocking part of it all? It's completely FREE! Doesn't get any better than that.”

“The atmosphere and eclectic decor make this place something special. I love the artwork, jewelry and pottery. It's so cozy, the type of place you could spend the entire day, relaxing and hanging out with friends. They have vegan milks and tons of vegan pastries. I love that the coffee is organic, but agree with other reviewers that the drinks are not the best. They are watery and not very creamy, especially for a latte. I even tried the cold brew with oat milk and it just seemed watered down. The four star rating is based on all the other things: food, atmosphere, organic ingredients, etc. Updated from previous review on 2024-02-18”
