311 Gallery is my happy place. I make sure to stop through whenever I'm in the general vicinity. It has a great collection, and I'm happy to see the pieces I'm familiar with as well as anything new. Art appreciators should make sure to stop by here, and it's just down the road from CAM, a great modern art museum, too!

My visit to 311 Art Gallery in Downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, was genuinely exceptional, accompanied by a compelling story. On that day, I had an underlying determination. I wanted to donate a piece of my mother's artwork to the gallery because it was a hobby I knew she loved.
I made my way downtown Raleigh, driven by an inner feeling that prompted me to act that early morning. Upon arriving at 311 Art Gallery, I was unaware of the entry fee to submit a piece of artwork for display. I explained to Kenneth, co-owner of the gallery, what I was trying to accomplish, and to my surprise, the entry fee was waived.
And so, weeks later, I waited until my mother visited the Raleigh area to surprise her with what I had done. I suggested that we visit 311 Art Gallery, and to her amazement, she discovered her painting among the displays. Witnessing her artwork being accepted and displayed in such a reputable gallery was an emotional moment, with her saying, “You have made my day.” It brought a new spark to her eyes. The surrealism she experienced has thus motivated her to continue exploring her artistic talents with renewed passion and enthusiasm, painting three pieces since the visit.
Overall, 311 Art Gallery's commitment to supporting artists and fostering creativity is commendable. This experience has left a lasting impact on my family, inspiring my mother to embrace her artistic voice and continue painting. It was honestly a transformative and memorable visit to the gallery.

I visited 311 Gallery a few months ago on First Friday. I didn't feel a friendly Vibe. I walked in and was never greeted by the couple behind the register, when I asked for a glass of wine. Customer service should always be 5 stars. The art does not look as great as it used to. It seems like they use projector in most of art! One of the artists that had a show was saying the owners do not allow food or wine in their studios. I used to love the vibe there years ago, something has changed and I am not sure what it is . I saw a roach run across the floor, and that didn't sit well with me. I don't see this place lasting. If you don't treat people like you want to be treated then RUN! They need some big changes !

I had one of the best art gallery viewing experience in a long while. The art works are very creative with works by both accomplished artists and fresh new comers. The gallery has variety of art works exhibited. Some works are very decorative and some are very collectable. Please stop by the gallery if you find yourself in Raleigh Downtown area.
