The restrooms are showing their age but are still relatively clean, the food/snacks and beverage selection is reasonable, and the staff is courteous. Before you start crossing the bridges to get to the Outer Banks, this is a great place to make a pit stop and get ready for the last leg of your trip!”

“Stopped and got gas. Very clean bathrooms. Lots of convenience foods. The gas pumps are modern and clean. The main pumps have non ethanol. There is separate diesel and DEF pumps that are very accessible for large trucks and RVs”

“Last October [2020], I pulled in at 10 PM with a broken brake line. Gassed-up and Limped to the restroom vending machines for a night's sleep. Having tent camped in the Smokey Mountains...driven out by 3 days of incessant rains and flash floods then on to the OBX... 70 mi. yet to go. This being a late Saturday night...I found little consolation - if any as to the possibility of a tow, parts, or repair. At 9 AM, Sunday...Antoinette opened the Smoke Shoppe drive through and after a brief explanation of my dilemma...said,,," not to worry, let me make a few calls." NOT TO WORRY...LET ME MAKE SOME CALLS, I'LL TAKE CARE OF IT! Not only did she take time to call several folks for my assistance but said Tony would be there within 45 min. to fix it...right there...no tow necessary. In a driving drizzle...Tony...teeth clenched around his cigar [I don't know how he managed to keep it lit], removed line...we went to parts up the highway and with new line & tube bender Tony...like a surgeon...put me back on the road by noon! Now...this is not just a story about luck or convenience.NO! This has everything to do with the 'beauty' of human nature. Antoinette and Tony forged my misfortune into their mission. Their action and effort was NOT to be denied. I could tell by Antoinette's body language and verbal assurance that she had unique personal qualities. Tony acted as if his efforts were just what he does every other day for strangers or anyone in his path in need of help. I have had an interesting and very eclectic life and, while in my 70's have experienced real, fine and extraordinary people. Antoinette and Tony are two added to my list of 'beautiful people'. In this present, American era of social & political alienation and upheaval and polarization...A. & T. just blew that sky high and flipped it 180 degrees. You could not hire better people to represent your business nor have as friend's to count on and most importantly...to TRUST. There will always be an emotional fondness for a place called Plymouth, North Carolina, Antoinette and Tony... in my heart. Hope to see you, both, again...without any truck repairs! Greg”
