One of the best local boutiques. I often go to purchase event or career clothes.

I love this store! I don't live in the area but whenever I'm in town visiting a friend who lives nearby I stop in. While not everything they carry is to my taste, they carry brands that I never or rarely see anywhere else and good staples as well. On my last visit I discovered a fantastic new to me denim brand, and picked up some other tops and sweaters as well. The ladies who work there are always so friendly and helpful...their suggestions led to some additional purchases!

Not great drive all the way there only to find out they are now only open Wednesday to Saturday or Sunday. Definitely check openings out before you go. Things have changed.

We happened to be in the area. It was such a beautiful day and we wanted to walk around and enjoy it. We knew of Ferrington Village, but hadn't been in the area for quite sometime, but yesterday we changed that. So many interesting shops. We wandered into Dovecote, my daughter and I, couldn't resist looking at all of the beautiful things they have there. My daughter and I were greeted 3 different times with wonderful big smiles and courteous despite our less than "pretty "attire (we had been at an outdoor clean up event at Jordan Lake) so sweatshirts & rainboots were our dress.Lovely store, staff and merchandise. I can't wait to go back with more time to actually shop!

I have shopped at Dovecote for a long time but this past visit was a real disappointment. My husband and I were shopping for an anniversary gift for me but couldn't get anyone to help us. There were several associates in the store and some were engaged with the few customers in the store but not one person even said hello to us or said "we will be right with you." We spent quite awhile in the store looking at purses and clothes, clearly not just browsing, but no one bothered to help us. I didn't feel good spending our money there so we left without ever being approached for help or buying a thing.

Okay so all in all I love this place. It's very unique. But go into it knowing, they have some very pricey high end stuff. But also, some affordable, delicious wonderful items. You just have to go digging I bought some amazing jams from here. Great plane for gifts. Mother's day coming up and I got my mother in law these lollipops that are rose vanilla flavored, but you can plant the sticks and they turn into flowers. How freaking cool is that. They had a 75 percent off section where everything was more than affordable. Just go into here knowing there will be pricey stuff, but go digging and you'll find great treasures.

Beautiful, expensive items. Very disappointed to learn that the jeans I purchased recently are available through WALMART. I guess when a boutique presents a certain image, one should get that special item they feel they are buying. Kathy H.

The store has 2 sections, clothing and home decorating. The clothing section: very pricey and very blah. Plain, bland colors, niche high-end brands that I'm sure are very finely crafted but aren't very distinctive Home furnishings : very pricey and very charming. Lots of cute kitchen and knick-knack pieces. Good place to browse for a small gift

Dovecote definitely never goes out of style, and I absolutely love this time of year for what they have to offer. The adorable rabbit items for Easter, the gorgeous spring collection of outfits, as well as the stationery, candles, and so much more. Plus, while you are there you can visit the resident doves and also go next door before or after your shopping visit for a cup of coffee and a snack at The Goat cafe.

This is the kind of store that's fun to browse in (even has birds to talk to), but makes you wonder who actually can afford to buy anything from. I know, I know, it's not meant for people like me, but we were guests of the Inn and we like to shop like other people. Enjoyable way to kill some time, but be prepared to fork over your wallet if you want to buy anything.

Agree with Melodie S's review 110%! I love this place for housewarming gifts, their handbags and jewelry. Every time I step foot into this beautiful store I spend way more than I should but I'm always thrilled with the items I bring home!

this is a great little store. It's just insanely pricey. They have some unique items as well as some adorable children's things. I wish I had more money in this store. And more room in my luggage.
