Horrible experience getting custom work done to an engagement ring, They did not tell us contractors do all their work. Ring was ruined an couldn't be returned because it was soldered "without permission" Awful customer service was left in the dark about the whole process horrible communication as well. I should of shopped with a local jeweler first will never shop with Zales or big box jewelery stores again.

I visited a jewelry store in Carolina Place Mall to get my wedding set insured and brought all the necessary paperwork. I was assisted by a light-skinned woman with thick hair in a sleek ponytail. She suggested that my ring may have been stolen due to the size of the diamond, implying that I had received a discount on it. She insisted that they couldn't insure it without an appraisal. Despite having the receipt and appraisal in my purse, I decided to leave the store and went to another store in Ballantine to insure my ring and buy a diamond ring for my husband for Father's Day. As an African American woman, I felt judged based on my appearance and will not be returning to Zales in Carolina Place Mall. I recommend going to stores that treat you with respect and not based on your looks
