Crooks, praying on the vulnerability of people with pets. Our dog Sadie was taken in because of discharge caused by a uterus Infection they told my wife that she needed to get spayed and that she couldn’t get spayed until the infection had cleared and that she should stay overnight with them on medication and IVs for 500 and night, which was not necessary at all not even hospitals do that with humans ,dogs are five times more resilient than we are, this was just a ploy to fleeces us out of money we didn’t have. On top of this, they went ahead and spayed her the same night she was dropped off, so they are liars and thieves! They could have given my wife antibiotics to bringing home and waited for her to heal. And then brought her back to get spayed, which would have only cost around $500 which would have been reasonable but instead robbed us out of $2000. BEEE aware that these vets and others are not in it for the love of animals they are in it for the love of money It’s criminal! On top of everything else, they wanna service fee to take the staples out OMG.

Quite recently our 12 year German shepherd had a medical emergency, it occurred late Tuesday night and I knew she’d need to be seen Wednesday morning. Now please know the Northstar Vet is busy on any given day, so when I say I didn’t hold out much hope of getting in to see the vet that day it’s because they are very popular and excellent at what they do so they have MANY patients. I spoke to Sandra and with so much kindness broke the news that they were fully booked and even their walk in schedule was full. My heart sank and I gave up hope that we’d be able to get her to see the vet working that day at NSV. I’m afraid I started to cry a bit because my worry forZoey’s condition had basically made my heart stop beating. Sandra was calm and heard my distress and put me on a brief hold while she spoke to the vet. She was able to get me an appointment that same morning. Dr. Krivit listened and HEARD our distress she could see as medical people ourselves we were trying to figure out what was wrong and trying hard not to go to the worse case scenario. She heard all her symptoms, saw them too and diagnosed her in minutes. She convinced us Zoey would do best and start her recovery while staying overnight for treatment. The staff staying overnight sent us a picture and message letting us know her condition. This helped us sleep a bit better. We picked her up the next day and each day she gets just a little bit better but the excellent care she got while in the hospital started her recovery in a positive way.
I only had one upsetting moment with the staff. When they came to get her from the car they asked me if this was “the euthanasia appointment”. That was the worst moment to ask us that question.
Minus that remark Zoey’s care was wonderful. Dr. Krivit and Dr. Moore are magnificent and the affection they hold for animals in general shines through. I would encourage you to call NSV if you need an experienced, kind and welcoming vet to take care of your fur baby.

This was the only vet we used for our Molly...from the time we got her until the time we had to let her cross the Rainbow Bridge. All of the staff has always been kind, compassionate, courteous and super caring. Thank you all for making her transition a peaceful one. Molly 11/1/13-6/5/24

This week, I brought my ferret to see the exotic pet veterinarian, Dr. Moore. She was very compassionate and welcoming. She spent as much time with us as we desired. We asked lots of questions and learned so much more about the health and nature of ferrets. She was very non-pressuring when it came to options for treatment. She understands the financial constraints of families and did not push the most expensive treatment as the only one that can help our ferret. She kept things "real." Her genuine love for our pet and meeting his needs was her highest priority. We love Dr. Moore!

I couldn't say enough about the care I received from North Star. Dr Richardson and her team came out to take a look at my goats and the service was top notch . I will certainly be using them in the future.

I’ve been taking my cattle dogs here for a while and typically have good experiences with the staff and vets. Not 5 stars due to a couple of reasons, first that my dog was given a rabies vaccine during his neuter without contacting me to add his most recent vaccine to his record. Second, I have struggled to get different departments to contact me back at different times. Overall, my experiences are good and they manage cattle dogs fairly well as a vet office (which is a struggle) and I appreciate the staff and their administration!

The reception staff is friendly, but slightly inexperienced. Fantastic vet techs and knowledgeable vets. I would never get chiropractic for my animal but they offer it...

I would definitely recommend North Star to anyone that is looking for a vet. My dog decided to eat part of his leash and they took excellent care of him and they are allowing me to pay for the surgery in payments. This is the first vet I have ever had do that. I think it shows that they care about the animals along with the families.

I just recently started going here because I moved states and my MIL recommended North Star. My husband and I have 4 cats, which makes for a stressful adventure in the car and to the vet. The staff here did so much to help us feel comfortable and help us with all of our fur babies. Everything medically necessary was explained well to us without any pressure or condescension. I would definitely recommend this place—very nice, understanding, and professional!
