Apparently nothing is ever anyone’s fault. I have not seen this level of incompetence in a post office before. When something goes wrong - like a mail hold is not delivered- is it too much to expect there to be accountability and acknowledgement? If for no other reason to prevent it from happening again. So when the mail hold is not delivered, in theory, it was sent back out for delivery- assurances made that it would be received. I am not surprised that it was merely loaded into someone’s vehicle before they checked out for the day. I keep hoping it will improve, yet the Sunset Beach Post office keeps their standards low. The only bright spot was Barbara on the phone seemed apologetic and understanding.

Probably the rudest lady that was working up front. I understand she was busy but she talked so condescending to everyone in there. So glad this isn’t my hometown post office!!

My carrier won't/can't deliver oversized packages to my 3rd floor condo, which is the top floor in our complex. I was told by USPS staff at the Post Office itself that it's a union rule. The carrier told me they don't want to pay carriers for the time to walk up the extra flight of stairs. However, it's okay for me to get in my car, pay for gas and go over to the PO and back every time I have a delivery that is oversized. I tried to file a complaint with the Post Master General, since the USPS overall is supposed to go the the 3rd floor. It went nowhere. So much for that old Postal Service creed, "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds." However, the older woman who answers the phone there when I call is always very nice, helpful, and understanding.

The delivery driver out back and workers at the front inside were nice and helped me get my Amazon packages that couldn’t be delivered to Ocean Isle.

Only one employee has ever been kind to me at this location. During all other experiences, they are terribly terribly rude, why?

Even though they were very short staffed with a line out the door the employees were doing the best they could despite the circumstances. The woman who helped me was very courteous and understanding of a sensitive situation I needed help with. Everything I needed was handled quickly and efficiently.

Absolutely horrible mail delivery! Our carrier is so lazy that if a package will not fit the mailbox they will not get out and bring it to the door. Instead they will just mark it "delivery attempted". This has gone on weekly for almost two years! I'm so sick of this but complaints fall on deaf ears. I don't know what this review will do since we have no choice in mail carriers but complaints to the office go nowhere.

Why can’t this post office ever open on time?!?! Weekdays weekends same story..opening late. AND THE ATTITUDE WHEN YOU ASK THEM ABOUT IT…..her answer….”What!?!? it’s only a few minutes. We are privately owned.” AND!?!?! It’s privately owned so you can open whenever you want?!?! JUST An I’M SORRY ONLY 2 WORDS. I’M SORRY FOR MAKING YOU WAIT or OPENING LATE GOES A LOOOOOONG WAY. This place is a joke!DO BETTER! TREAT PEOPLE BETTER!OPEN ON TIME!PRACTICE BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE.Something needs to be done.

There’s one employee with decent customer service. The rest are truly so angry at the world day in and day out. Completely rude to everyone and need some serious customer service training. Witnessing post office employees yelling at people, rolling their eyes, getting catty, and just being disrespectful is a daily occurrence. Truly terrible experience every single time I’m there. My mailman is great, but these people behind the counter at the post office are truly horrible.
