I've been coming to OIB for 30 years and have spent thousands at Sheffield's. I parked adjacent to the boat landing and came back with a note in my window to pay them $25 for parking.I double checked and there wasn't a "No Parking" sign. If there was I would have parked elsewhere.My wife went in to pay the $25 (We could have just driven off) and the lady with long grey hair was very rude to her.If you don't want people to park in certain spots then CLEARLY post it. I'll just make my purchases across the bridge for now on.

No signs that says you have to pay for parking, owner won’t even let you know when she sees you because she wants your money. Guilt trips you and threatens to tow.

If you need anything, most likely you will find it here! Local Folks..... really local folks not those that say they are local and lived her 2-3 years. If you need information this is place to come. Need gas, boat gas, nets and traps, minnows and shrimp come here. If you want something for dinner come here Oysters, Scallops, fish, devil crabs, shrimp and more.... They will even tell you how to cook it! Coolers and beer what ever you need...Find it here along with a friendly smile... they love questions! Tell them Joy sent you

Below review: William Bogan. You say 45 yrs. Seems like they have always been there since the swing bridge days... It opened in 1959 ... I bet they opened around then... In the mid 60"s, my first stop before going to the house? Sheffield's ... Blood worms, drinks, ice. Gasoline, 30 cents per gallon and in those days, more fuel at the ABC next door ...

First time visiting Ocean Isle. I packed some surf fishing gear and asked a few locals where I can get bait. They said, "go to Sheffield's. They have everything you need." They were right. They had the bait, beer, the ketchup we needed, the sugar we forgot, fishing rigs we didn't have, treats for the kids, gas, etc. It isn't a Walmart but for the main things like basic fishing tackle, food, snacks, bait, and gas this is my favorite. They even sell souvenirs. Awesome little place.
