I moved here from the Nashville, TN area. Within a month of moving to New Bern, I found this beautiful home, albeit super large for just myself, but Kristi was willing to work with me. However, my credit was not up to par. I mentioned taking it back to the owner to pay for the full year in advance. The owner agreed. I loved the home, minus a few flaws, but Rivertowne Rentals was quick to resolve them all! The staff has always been great to deal with whether by phone, through their portal, or by email. I cannot thank them enough for giving me my first year in New Bern a stellar year! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Is zero stars an option? If you're an owner, don't list your house with this company if you ever want an answer back. If you're a renter, you might be better off sleeping in a tent. Good luck.

Morgan, Mike, and Kristi were fantastic in helping me secure an apartment in this quiet and convenient complex. Can't wait to move in! My thanks to them!

I moved across country and wouldn't have had a roof over my head if it wasn't for Morgan at Rivertowne Rentals. Southern hospitality at its finest. With the "A" Team of Morgan, Michael and the maintenance man Hank, my move in was seamless, supportive and efficient. My house is absolutely darling and affordable.I couldn't ask for more.

Wonderful people to work with. I moved to New Bern from out of state, and they were extremely helpful from my very first inquiry and beyond. Cannot recommend enough!

Rivertowne helped me by renting to me at the last minute so I didn't have to sleep in my car. For that I was thankful. However, the house was a complete mess with filth and dog hair and garbage everywhere - including several boxes and piles in the front yard. I hired someone to help me clean the house and they reimbursed their cost but gave me nothing for my work. My sales rep, Rodger, actually told me that if the previous tenant's garbage didn't fit in my cans that I would have to buy extra tickets so that the garbage men would take it. I filled out a form that Rodger gave me for all of the items that needed to be addressed by the landlord but the majority were never fixed. The bathroom didn't have a towel bar, the refrigerator leaked inside and I had to place a container to catch the water all year. The water backed up in the toilet and tub and kitchen sink periodically and I just kept plunging and letting Rodger know. The windows had broken locks, the doors had no deadbolts and there was no working smoke alarm. I only got an alarm installed because the management company could get fined if they didn't install it within a time period of my request. However, the alarm didn't even work after installed. Then hurricane Florence happened and after that I was told repeatedly by Rodger that they were overwhelmed with work and mine wasn't a priority because I was able to live there fine. Overall, it was a nice house but definitely needed a few fixes to make it more safe and secure. I left the house broom clean and free of any mess and also paid for someone to cut the grass because Rodger told me that would be an issue if didn't. I informed Rodger that I wanted my security deposit back when I left so we did a walk through so he could see how I left it and tell me if there was an issue. He said he was not responsible for the refund -- that it was handled by the office. I vacated the property on sept 1 and I received a check in mid October for $310 of my $650 deposit. It also contained receipts for $200 to clean the house and $140 to cut the grass on October 1 -- a month after I left. I was livid. I called Rodger who proceeded to lie to me about how I left the property and submitted false information about the status of the house. He eventually hung up on me when I argued that I did what he told me to do. After that I called the manager Christy who was reasonable enough to listen and eventually returned all of my money when I said I have photos and proof of what I did before I left. However this took 4 or 5 phone calls. I appreciated them renting to me without a job, but I did offer 6 months rent up front. I suggest if you use Rivertowne, do NOT deal with Rodger if you want adult conversation. He lies and will not tell you anything to your face when you ask. And he will also hang up if he doesn't want to hear your complaint. Also, make sure you have photos of everything for proof in case you need it.

Concerned and confused about our choice: When we bought what was to be our retirement home from Tyson Group, we were assured that there was "a huge rental market in New Bern" and that our property "would easily rent for $1900 - $2000/mo. In fact, we would not have purchased the house without that assurance. We signed the contract with Rivertowne on Oct 1. The only communication from them was to inquire if we would rent to someone with 2 small dogs (which we agreed to). On Oct 16, I finally reached out for some kind of update. I was told there had been no other interest, and was I ready to lower the price (which I did). Wondering why there was no interest in a supposedly booming rental market, I started doing some research. Imagine my shock when I found out that there are 2 comparable houses for rent in our neighborhood, for quite a bit less money. Why would we not have been guided to put a comparable price tag on our house in order to be able to be in the running for successfully renting it??? We are now worried that we may have to sell our beautiful house, as we cannot financially sustain paying 2 mortgages. We are sorry we trusted these 2 group. I just checked their website - our house is not even on it!!!!!!

Zero communication. They overpromise and underdeliver. I couldn't recommend a property management company less.
