I have never had a bad experience ant the Great Clips in New Bern, NC until today. Overall, Sam with the red bob was incredibly rude, pushy and mean. I have never had such an awful customer service experience. I left the salon not knowing if she just sabotaged my hair on purpose. I left mad and angry at the way I was treated. She was displaying so much hostility that I was purely uncomfortable. I do not have high expectations for a hair salon like great clips as the haircuts are cheap but I do expect respect from the people working there. This was beyond a worker just having a bad day.

I have to post this unfavorable review not only as a "hairs up" to potential customers but in hopes this might be discussed with staff. I popped in one afternoon recently to get a haircut and boy did I get a haircut!?! I certainly did. My hair was about 3" from my back waist line. It's just grown and I kept it in a ponytail or a clip. I get hot and what saved me was being able to get the hair off the back of my neck right at the base of where hair grows. I have naturally curly hair. It wasn't in its best life moment so as I always have to do I told the nice young lady that it is naturally curly and spraying it wet then cutting will create a shorter cut than I wanted. I asked specifically for my hair to be about 1.5" below my shoulders. I also specifically stated that it was imperative that she leave enough for me to place in a ponytail so that I could get the hair off the back of my neck when I got hot. She said she could tell it was curly and she'd be sure to consider that. I knew with the first snip it was going to be my turn to be able to use he/him pronouns. It's too short!!! :( I didn't get upset with her, she was very nice and I know there was no ill intentions. I paid $19 for a cut I do not like PLUS a $6 tip. Yes I tipped her cause she's trying to live too. To me that was a fortune to leave very sad and no wash! I cannot pull up in a clip & forget the ponytail at least for now. I know it will grow back. I pray it grows back!! ?

Went to the great clips yesterday and all I asked for was my fade to be redone on the sides and my bangs cut to be to my eyebrows…I close my eyes for them to be cut and when I open them my bangs are cut halfway up my forehead. I left and cried, this is the worst haircut I’ve ever gotten. Completely messed up all progress I had made in growing my hair out. Will not be returning

I take my son here to get his hair cut and they always do a perfect job. It's almost always a different girl, but they know exactly how his hair needs to be. The prices are really good also!

Hire friendlier staff. From the moment i walked in till I left the stylist was unprofessional and rude beyond belief. If you are having a bad day, go home. If you hate your job, pick something new. But don’t push your ugly behavior and attitude on customers. I’ve never met a stylist that can cut a head of hair in under 3 minutes but that’s what I received… you should be ashamed of yourself for hiring these types of folks, Great Clips

This place use to be nice, now you are stuck with crazy long wait times. I went in yesterday and 5 people were waiting in the lobby with another 15 on the board, not a single employee was on the floor. Nobody available or even visable, they simply don't have enough staff to handle all the customers. Last time I got a haircut here, they messed it up pretty good too. I'd recommend going else where.

I don't know how the previous review happened but I definitely did not leave 5 stars. The salon was not the cleanest and my stylist was lazy. Hair every where as if no one cleaned between customers and I still need my haircut after paying $20 to have already gotten it done...

I have been to Great Clips three times now. The first two times I saw Sarah, she did a wonderful job. She isn't there anymore. Today I saw Renee, she gave me a wonderful new updated cut. I have natural curly hair, so it isn't easy to get a good cut, not everyone can give a good cut for curly hair, but I am more than happy with my new cut today. I will go back when Renee is working.
