During the summer 80' me & brother took shelter from a category 1 hurricane that came through here inside this 7-11, back then it was under a different owner, he was a very nice guy. Me & brother came here a lot for food, snacks, and beer, while we work during the summer in the area, recommend this 7-11 for your convenient needs.

The overall place was okay, they don't give you the receipt after the purchase and act weird when asked for it which seems suspicious to me. I was in a hurry, so I didn't bother but still wanted to let y'all know.

Increasingly difficult to communicate with a staff of some of these 7-Elevens. This particular night. The store had a very unusual odor. I really can't explain what it was like. It wasn't particularly awful. Just very strange

Man was very very rude. Rushed me the whole time with attitude. Then charged me 18.00 for something that was 11.99. When manager was called he just threw $2 at me and said here. I told him nooo it was $6 so he threw a $5 down and said goodbye. They had others behind me. Watch what they are ringing up they are charging ppl more than the items are. Will never go back and i come every year.

Especially if you're from somewhere in the mid-Atlantic, you've come to expect that 24/7/365 you can always find a place open for a few necessaries be it a Wawa, Sheetz, Royal Farms, Rutter's, etc. If you're in the OBX in the offseason, good luck with that as no such place exist and all groceries stores will be closed by 10pm at the latest. The only exceptions are the two 7-11s on the island. If you're staying in the Nags Head area, this unfortunately, is your horse.Typical small sized 7-11 from the 80's that I guess has most of what you could want for a late night trip with a few notes.* Very small parking lot. Maybe 6 spaces and yes this place can get "crowded" in the offseason let alone what it must look like in July.* Complete non-existent customer service. Both times I went in the same guy was in the back doing ?? while on his phone taking a personal call and never broke stride with that call when he eventually graced me (plus others waiting for him) with his presence to ring up transactions.* Watch out for expired items. They currently have a bottle of their generic 7-11 brand Nyquil in the first aisle for sale that expired 13 months ago. They also have a few other cold remedies in that same area already expired or close to it. * Watch out for items priced as X that will ring up as Y. That pint of ice cream might say $5.99 but it could ring up as $8.99. Attempting to mention it to employee on his phone gets you ignored or eventually he snaps that the price is the price and he doesn't make them. Allllrighty then.So yes, come if you must and/or if what you need is very basic but as long as it's before closing time, make the trip to the Food Lion right up the road. More choices, much better pricing and at least you won't be disturbing someone into doing their job.Pass.

Upon paying for a medium coffee, I handed the clerk $2 who promptly took it and closed the register without giving me change

The two clerk were very rude and made me feel like I was a nuisance. Traveling here on vacation, I won 2 lottery tickets. They made me wait for other customers to checkout and then short changed me $5 on my winnings. Please avoid this store unless you are in dire need, wouldn’t mind seeing them out of business with their terrible customer service.
