Our usual hair place is being renovated. So, I took my son to Sharkey’s for the first time. I did some research before we went and when I booked the appointment I chose Elizabeth as my son’s hair stylist.When we arrived, Elizabeth was very welcoming. My son got to choose what vehicle to sit in for his haircut. Small things like that really make a difference. Elizabeth listened to my suggestions on how to do the haircut. She talked with my son the entire time which, kept him occupied (so did the TV, stickers, balloons etc!) Periodically, Elizabeth made sure to use a hair dryer to remove the bits of hair off my son. Which he was so happy about! She was very efficient with time. We both loved the outcome of the haircut he got. My son really liked Sharkey’s and asked to go back and see Elizabeth next haircut.

Hair stylist was nice. He did pretty good job with my son’s hair cut. Seat was not clean and hair was everywhere. It would be better to know the service cost before service. I could not find the service cost posted anywhere.

While I don’t normally write reviews, I feel compelled to write one for the Sharkeys in Morrisville.I made an appointment for my 15 month old son to get his haircut at Sharkeys and our whole experience was awful. To begin with, our appointment was made over the phone for 10am the following week (when they supposedly open). We confirmed the appointment the day before. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the cleaning lady who very rudely informed us that the store was closed and would not open until 3pm. She basically closed the door on us and went on her way. On my third attempt to call the stores phone number, the man who made our appointment to begin with answered and said that someone would call me back. 15 minutes later, some other man (who later claimed to be the manager) called me back and all frazzled, told me he’d be there in 10 minutes. I offered to reschedule and he said no, that his grandson had been in the hospital and he was in his way. 25 minutes later, the man finally showed up looking very unprofessional - slippers, gym shorts and t-shirt. He invited my son to pick a chair - he had clearly never cut anyone’s hair before and started cutting my baby’s hair - uneven, didn’t even cut parts of it. He picked up the razor and again had no idea what he was doing. Shaved the back and sides way too short and uneven. Many parts of his hair were even left untouched. I was dumbfounded and probably should have said something but the damage was done. After a few minutes of cutting, he announced he was finished. when I asked him how much I owed him, he said « $31 » ? I was floored and repeated « $31?! Gosh that’s expensive. » and he just looked at me and repeated « $31 ». At this point, I just wanted to get out because he made me feel very uneasy and we were the only ones in the salon. I felt obligated to tip him on top of this. I am kicking myself for not speaking up, but it is what it is. I left there with almost $40 less in my pocket and my baby’s hair completely butchered. Any professional establishment should have offered to reschedule the appointment or at the very least offer a 10% discount! I will NEVER go back to this hair salon.Edit to add: I have one star only because no stars was not an option.

0/5 would not recommend. I should have learned from a friend’s previous experience when she arrived for her child’s haircut and the store was closed. I assumed her experience was just a fluke or a momentary glitch in the system.I arrived 5 minutes early for my daughter’s appointment so heaven forbid I’m not 7 minutes late and they cancel my appointment! However, not a soul was in the store. Closed sign was up. I double checked my appointment date and time to make sure I wasn’t crazy. I called the number listed with no answer.To have this happen more than once is totally unacceptable. Needless to say I won’t be returning to this location. We are return customers at the Cary location but they were booked on this specific day.

I made an appointment for my daughter's for 5pm and 5:30pm. We arrived at 4:55pm. There was one person working and she was just starting a haircut. She informed us that someone called out, she was behind, had to cut the child in the chairs hair plus one more before she could get to us. No attempt was made to contact me to let me know my appointments would not be honored and given the chance to reschedule. However, I was contacted by text and email to remind me to be on time. The employee was also rude and defensive. I would book with caution and allow time in your schedule to sit and wait. We were not able to wait because we had other things on our schedule which is why we made appointments.

This place really cares about their work! Mr. Eddie and Ms. Regina are phenomenal! They won’t just send your kiddo home looking like a mess if the kiddo is not feeling too thrilled about getting a haircut. They are very patient!

Had a pretty terrible experience, hope it was just an off day. Despite making an appointment they were very busy and backed up. Some people had been waiting 50+ minutes. We waited 35 minutes. My son is 1 and just needed a trim to get his hair out of his eyes and face. After saying we don't need a buzz cut, the hair dresser continued to use a buzzer on my 1 year old. It obviously did not go over well. He screamed and cried the whole time. Eventually I just had to call it as the hair dresser was trying to clean it up and make it perfect. I felt like there was little attention to getting the kids occupied and little understanding of how to deal with a 1 year old getting a hair cut. We wanted to go to a place like this thinking the hair dressers would be better at working with young kids over any other hair cutting place but that was not our experience. Very disappointed.

We went in for a haircut for my son. The haircut itself was to our liking, but it was not an overall pleasant experience. The place was crowded, and so I felt the whole process was rushed. The service scheduled and paid for was a "wash, cut and blow dry" but son was given only the cut. Neither was his wet hair (sprayed with water for the cut) dried nor the trimmings blown off his head and face properly. So most of that hair ended up in his car seat.

I booked an appointment, we showed up, the stylist didn’t come and we were told to try another time. A courtesy call would have been great….honestly, this is our second bad experience at this place….very disorganized.

We took our 2 year old here, expecting to have the same experience that we had twice before at the Sharkey's Cary location, but our experience was completely different. The lady who cut our son's hair in Morrisville was incredibly slow and did an awful job. The first requirement for cutting a toddler's hair should be efficiency, but this lady was so slow that it seemed like she had just started cutting hair. She should not be cutting kids' hair! Then she went way too high in the back with the clippers, cut random short spots in the top and left a straight line above one of his ears. Needless to say, we will not be visiting this location again.

The Sharkeys Cuts for kids, located in Norman is a wonderful place! All of the workers are so helpful and friendly! I have 3 kids to juggle and various ages, so it is a nice place for them to get a haircut. Lashay, Jael, and Janine are super sweet and helpful. They're great at communicating with me and the kids. My 1yr old needs to be distracted at times and I am so grateful for their help! I know I couldn't do it on my own. It's so nice to be in a friendly, safe, and comfortable environment.
