“The customer service is always excellent. They even held a piece of mail I had been looking for after discovering that the sender did not put my box number in the address, AND they called me to let me know it was available so it wouldn’t have to be returned. It saved me so much time and effort, and I am so grateful to them for that! They were so nice about me calling to check and see if it had arrived. The Postal Service really is a service, and the Apex location proves it.”
“It is open. Counter 9-5 M-F. Very helpful staff. Last visit I mistakenly filled a label for next day, $60, clerk insisted I do another for $15 2-3 days. Yes understaffed, for all the hate for Trump, he appointed Louis De Loy who thankfully kept his job, things are turning around. As in parcels delivered on Sunday. As for others who compared it a Food Lion checkout, yeah sometimes. Welcome to NC.”
“This morning, when I was determining which USPS office I wanted to go, to I looked up the various ratings of those on ky way to work, I was already having a challenging day and did not want to deal with the attitude I sometimes encounter folks behind the counter. This post office had the highest rating so I selected it, and I was pleased. In fact I left in a better mood than I arrived in. The woman behind the counter was friendly, courteous, and helpful. I appreciate that.”
“I've been to this post office several times and have had nothing but good interactions with the staff here. They are kind and friendly. The negative reviews by others might be due to the customer coming in with a bad attitude to start with.”

3525 Old US 1 Hwy, New Hill“Extremely nice and helpful workers at this location. They go above and beyond every single time and go out of their way to say hey or "wave" when I drive by. Packages are always on time and get scanned in ASAP, which is helpful when running a small business. They even found me on social media to let me know I missed something on one of my packages. You won't find that kind of service anywhere else around this area. Their help and attention to detail are very much appreciated!!”
“I've used this post office dozens of times with no issues. It can get fairly crowded, but I have had largely positive interactions with staff. There is one gentleman in particular who works there who is super kind and helpful (sadly, I did not catch his name). He explains everything thoroughly and doesn't seem rushed or annoyed. In addition to helping me several times, I watched him patiently help an elderly woman with her mail issue and was struck by his kindness. I imagine postal work is a pretty thankless job, so I was compelled to share my positive experiences at this post office.”
“Arrived 11:30 for an 11:45 passport appt. I was seen immediately and was instructed to ring the bell regardless of how early you arrive since they may be able to see you earlier or to let them know that a customer is waiting. I was seen by France who was patient and very easy to work with. Process was smooth and easy!!”
“I have done business with the S. Academy Post Office for 16 years, and am very proud to call it my postal home.Yes, some of the postal clerks come across as stiff, formal & 'can't be bothered to tell you a second time', but that doesn't last long if you get to know them by first name and make them laugh. This takes time, but it will come if you do a lot more listening and observing. Each postal clerk is a person who has many of the same adult responsibilities, heartaches and hourly disasters as you have.Haven't you ever had a work day when your work seemed like a bland routine ? It happens, and the only way through it is just to shift into 'bland mode' which can be seen as aloofness and rudeness.Postal workers not only have to pass grueling Civil Service exams to get their postal jobs in the first place, but they also have executive intelligence way beyond what is required for their jobs, plus have ti maintain their calm while suffering through annoying public for hours on end. This group with executive-like minds have largely been artificially 'placed' in jobs that require the learning and recalling of a huge amt. of USPS data. Add that to sharp minds, and it is entirely possible that bordam has set in.”
“After having a horrible passport experience at the USPS in downtown Durham, I had a passport appointment and mail service here. I am absolutely 100% happy with the experience and the high efficiency. The staff were very nice. I would highly recommend this place for passport apps!”
“I called on two separate days, speaking with both Renee and Glenda, and both were absolutely lovely! So helpful and patient, doing their best to help me track a missing package.”
“Despite all the negative reviews I like this location. They have the self service option to speed up the process. Then despite the line being long they were still very friendly and moved swiftly. No complaints on my end. Wish when people leave comments they put the whole story up. Yes some people have bad customer service but you aren’t the only customer and they can’t jump just for you.”
