Delivery was difficult because nobody was available to deliver the mattress during a time when I was home. I ordered a deep sized box spring and was notified right before delivery time that I would be getting a thin box spring because the one I originally ordered was not in stock but was charged the exact same price. Im pretty sure I was also given the wrong mattress because when I called 2 days after my order which was supposed to arrive on Tuesday, on Thursday I was told the truck didn’t come so he was emailing the company to see when the truck would arrive. Then on Friday, a mattress of poor quality was delivered to my home along with the wrong box spring. The mattress is definitely not the one I originally chose from the store. Very disappointed.

This is why I support a local bud. Not only did John go out of his way to help our family when it was time to purchase a new bed. I recently reached out to him to see what options he has to help a family down on their luck and he made it possible for us to maximize some donations to help them even more. Can’t ask for a better business to support.

I have used John/Burke Furniture and Bedding three times in the past five years, and cannot say enough good things about this business. He never tries to oversell you past showing you all the options, never tries for add-on sales, and is always SO easy to deal with. The prices are 1/2 to 1/3 of the obscene prices the big chain mattress stores charge, and the delivery guys are always great and efficient. Don't let the chain stores fool you into thinking you will not have a "good" mattress for less than $3000-it's nothing but sales hype.

First shop at all the other mattress stores in Morganton and Hickory where you will get a sense of the salespeople using techniques to rip you off. You will come out of those places with sticker shock at the ridiculous prices they want. Then go to Burke Bedding and get the best price from a really pleasant salesman.

John is a great guy, treated us so good! We recently bought a home and needed a bed that day. He made sure we had a bed that night, went out of his way and really helped us out. We got a great bed at a great price, couldn’t be happier!

I ordered a mattress from John on April 12th over the phone and he said it’d be 3/4 weeks until it got to the store. Time rolls by and I call him over and over again to never get a response. I emailed him and left him several messages trying to find out why my mattress was taking 7 weeks and why I hadn’t heard from him. I ended up having to drive over to the store to see him, and it turned out he never even ordered the mattress. I ordered the mattress in person (middle of June now) and have the invoice he wrote, again he said it would be about 3 weeks. I felt better knowing I had an actual invoice in my hand and he seemed to have actually ordered it. 3 weeks come and I call, he tells me it didn’t come on the truck but to wait until the next week. The next week rolls around and I kept calling and getting no answer; at this point I assume he purposefully ignores calls from my number. Now it’s August, I’ve never heard back from him, have no idea if the mattress ever came in, and ended up ordering with someone else. Because of John’s immature business mannerisms, I have waited 4 months to get a mattress I could’ve had in April. I wanted to support local, my family had trusted him as a business owner, but now we and other community members are seriously disappointed in his behavior. I hope nobody else experiences what I did, and I hope his future actions don’t reflect how he treated us."

I have now bought 3 sets of box springs/mattresses from this shop and I can’t say enough good things about them! They’re prices are great and they offer quality products. Most importantly though, their customer service is excellent. I bought a headboard and frame from a large furniture store in Connelly Springs and the hardware they gave me didn’t work. John at Burke Bedding gave me different brackets and his guy even tried to get the frame and headboard connected when they delivered the mattress/box springs! Ultimately I returned the headboard to Connelly Springs and bought a headboard from John at Burke Bedding! Customer service is not a thing of the past there!

My fiance and I went to find a new mattress to replace our old one. We shopped around and came here to just price one. John was super friendly and very energetic, went into details we hadn't been told on mattresses and helped us find the right one for our budget, even helped us put it on lay away and gave us tips on how to prolong the life of the mattress. We paid it off a week later, there was a slight miscommunication on delivery but he fixed it fast and got it to us right on time. We will definitely return either in a few years for a new one or if we decide to upgrade the child's bed and we strongly suggest anyone looking to shop here.
