I called and spoke to Brenda and she was very professional. We are new to NC and she was able to get us an appointment that day due to a cancellation. Dr Pinney got on the floor to greet our dog and he was just so great with her, getting her used to him. As our first visit, I would certainly recommend Dr Pinney and Lake Norman at Mooresville Animal Hospital.

If I could leave negative stars I would so congratulations for receiving the 1 you’re going to get.
If you are looking for a veterinary clinic that is money hungry and filled with employees that do not understand basic communication skills, empathy, sympathy, the actual work/care they provide, or how to be professional in any manner you found the right vet for you.
(our experience was so awful I have to post this review in 2 parts)
PART:2
The receptionist retrieved our pup and we left. About an hour later we got a call and the woman we spoke with was one of the most cold hearted, unprofessional, rude people I have ever encounter working in the pet health care industry. This woman informed us that animal weight had nothing to do with what the cost of a spay surgery would be and that at the end of the day the cost for a female dog spay at Lake Norman at Mooresville Animal Hospital was a set price of $480. We told her that we were informed by the staff at this facility on 3 separate occasions what we had been told about pricing and she cut me off multiple times when I was speaking and told me it doesn't matter what we were told or by whom we were told this information the price was what it was and she is ready to collect our payment. I was disgusted but ultimately defeated by this woman and her treatment of me. We paid our bill and hoped we wouldn't have to deal with this staff again. Unfortunately for us our baby girls incision started opening up where they had glued her skin together. We called and sent in pictures of her incision for review as we wanted to avoid having to go back in to this awful facility at all costs(literally). No one got back to us same day. We received a call next day (Saturday) that we would need to bring her in but that they didn't have a vet that could see her today so we had to wait 2 MORE days for her to even be seen. We took her in on a Monday to be review by the same vet that performed her surgery Dr. Leah. This vet stated she was healed internally it was just the surface level incision site that would need to be re glued. We had mention in our call and emails with pics that we also suspected our pup might have a UTI as well at this point and when we brought this up to Dr. Leah she stated that our pup probably doesn't have a UTI but if WE really wanted to we can pay another ADDITIONAL COST to have her check for a UTI. We stated we would like to have her check and we will pay the cost required. Wouldn't you know, when Dr.Leah came back she told us our pup did in fact have a UTI and would need to take antibiotics. We paid for our visit and left with our pup feeling even more disgusted and appalled at this clinic than before. Cut to today 10.26.24 we sent in new pics of our pups incisions area for them to review along with multiple questions we needed answered. We received no call. We tried calling them around 11am and no one answered. We called again at 1:55pm and were able to speak with reception who informed us that though they were able to view and review our email and all pics attached they were unable to get an actual vet to look them over and contact us back regarding our puppy's safety/wellbeing and that's how that call ended. Here we are about 1 month later still not being able to bathe our pup or get quality care or confirmation that the surgery performed by their clinic is healing appropriately. This facility and the majority of their staff are heartless, unprofessional, and horribly rude individuals that I strongly suggest get the heck out of the pet healthcare industry as it is CLEAR AS DAY you all have no business being in this line of work. If you want to be blamed for being told incorrect information regarding your pets care by staff and made to feel like you're the issue for advocating for yourself and your fur baby then Lake Norman at Mooresville Animal Hospital is the veterinary clinic for you.

PART 1:
We decided to take our mini dachshund to this veterinary clinic(based off of the 4.5 star review status this facility has on google and after reviewing their website) for her general care and saw Dr.Pinney for all of her beginning well visits/check ups. We did not run into issues until it came time for us to get our girl spayed. We called Lake Norman at Mooresville Animal Hospital on 2-3 separate occasions before the date of our girls surgery to confirm pricing and post operation care. During each of these calls we were quoted that a spay for female dogs 0-30 lbs would be at a maximum cost $480 but since our girl only weighed in at 12lbs we should not even approach that maximum cost of $480 and it would be maybe a 3rd of that max cost amount. So we took our girl in for her spay appointment and were told that our regular vet Dr. Derrick Pinney was not available to perform her surgery and that another vet (Dr. Leah Paterno-Olivari) would be operating on our pup. Since we hadn't run into issues at this point we trusted this facility and new vet to provide the same care that Dr. Pinney had been providing thus far. We left and when we got the call that our pup was ready for pick up we couldn't have imagined the amount of frustration and unprofessionalism we were about to encounter.
We arrived at the vets office and were guided around the receptions desk to go over payment and post op care before they would bring out our girl. The lady at the reception informed us that our bill for pups surgery was $524. We were baffled and so was the receptionist that read off the total amount. We informed her about the 3 previous calls we made in regards to what this surgery would cost us at max and the receptionist stated that she was in fact the employee that provided us with that pricing quote. She told us she would go check in the back with someone about why the price was so high. She came back about 10 mins later with no new information and brought the other receptionist over to look at our bill and this receptionist also was confused on why our final price was the amount it was. The initial receptionist we were speaking with went to the back AGAIN another 10-15 minutes later she came back out and stated that whoever she spoke with was able to adjust the price to $481 which was still over the MAX the spay would cost and should only reach that amount if our dog weighed in closer to 20-30lbs. She stated that there was another associate at this clinic who could review the cost for us and get us under $480 was on break and could give us a call when she got back to the office. We stated we would like to proceed with this option to receive a call back. The receptionist retrieved our pup and we left.

This place was so nice with my dog!! I have a chihuahua who actually likes people, but he was so nervous today, and the doctor came in and was sooo good with him!! Definitely going to return here. He showed me how to give him his medicine, and was so nice and understanding! Everyone had smiles and was so friendly to my boy. Great place!

Tried calling them. But it went to a “User Busy” tone and to call back later. But they did call me back and helped me find a place to assist with ear posting. We then found out it was their phone provider. So on the phone company’s end that they're going to look into it.

The doctor that I saw was an absolute sweet heart.
The "stray" that I had found, she checked out quickly and efficiently. Found the owner using her microchip and helped me return the baby to them! I am sad to see the little fella go, especially be that they let the little void outdoors near a busy road at night. But wish her the best.

Dr. Pinney was one of the best vets I have ever seen handle my ferret. She has been to 3 other vets, 2 in NY and 1 here in NC and Dr. Pinney was so great with her as she is a bit of a wiggle worm. It was not pricey and ended up being less than anticipated, which is a plus.

Seems to me they don't care. It says they're open until 8pm but you can't be worked in. Never going back.

Wouldn't take my fur babies any where else as they have saved one of my babies from near death and have always given them the best care and been 100% about them not just about the money as most vets can seem like

Dr. Pinney and all of the staff here are wonderful. They are great with our pet rabbit and cat— I can always trust that they are in good hands at this vet. Each time I go, appointments are on time, and visits are quick and efficient yet do not feel rushed. Everyone is so friendly, and prices are very fair. I once had to bring my rabbit in for an acute visit and was able to make a same day appointment on a Saturday without breaking the bank, which I was very grateful for. Very glad I have found this vet in Mooresville, and would 10/10 recommend to anyone in the area.
