Such a cool place! Good variety of walls, clever setting.Atmosphere is impeccable with the cafe/bar area upstairs. Cozy lounging spaces to hangout and Reel Rocks on the TV.A staff member named Liz really went above and beyond to make sure I was having a great experience. Really made my night!

I was surprised with how friendly all the staff members were. They were super helpful and were happy to help even when we needed to try on 3 shoes to get the right size for my husband. It was a breath of fresh air, honestly.I also loved how many different options of paths and difficulty levels there were. As an inexperienced climber, there were great options for us and it seemed like even an experienced and regular climber could have some great options for them as well, even the two little guys (probably ages 5-7) that came in the same time we did. I was definitely surprised they had a climbing area just for the little ones. I would love to go back!

absolutely awesome place to go. Great for kids and the whole family. I was helped by Micheal at the front desk. He was super friendly and helped me understand everything very well! Would recommend to friends and family.

Very nice facility, good cleanliness and the routes are really enjoyable. I had a lot of fun at my last visit! I wish I had the endurance to climb longer!I didn't quite go to 5 stars because I have just a few small gripes.First, I kind of wish that there was a little bit more of an interaction with employees during orientation. I'm not new to climbing but I brought a friend that was. It would have been nice to run through a quick demonstration about the bouldering area especially. (I'm not the best teacher) It's important to know how to fall and how not to fall. Maybe they're a bit too busy for that, but I feel like that would lead to less problems and might make it a little less intimidating for newcomers. Same with the auto belay system. I know that can get a little intimidating. As for my second gripe. KIDS! EVERYWHERE! I don't dislike kids, I have a child of my own, but I don't just leave them to their own devices in a place like this. I don't frequent this gym, but I have others, and I have never looked down so many times while bouldering to see some kid hanging out where I could fall on them and not a parent or employee in sight. I had one kid even try to climb a route that I was already half way up. I get that maybe it's not entirely the gym's fault, and some of that lies with the parents for not paying attention to them, but this could also go back to orientation not being able to drive some of these rules home to the parents. It's just a video, they're not climbing and and their kid is just here for a birthday party. And you know the kids aren't going to pay attention unless you make them.Overall it was a good time and a great experience, which is why I'm sticking to 4 stars. Just wish I didn't have to be so anxious about landing on someone's unsupervised child and maybe there was a little more orientation for first timers.

awesome place, came in by myself a couple weeks ago and every single one of the staff members was amazing. Great environment and welcoming for new and experienced climbers. Will be coming back this week

No one around to watch or carefully ensure children are safe or if anyone need help. Not enough hanging ropes to strap yourself with as well.

The facility is ok, but the staff have been very frustrating to deal with and very disappointing. I arrived with a bunch of children, and I intended to purchase a punch pass to use on all of them. I found out upon arrival that punch passes are not transferable, thus I couldn't share it with the children. This was not made clear on the website, and it was not how they worked at other gyms I've been to, and it threw a wrench into my plans, but under a great deal of pressure from the children to start climbing, I still purchased one punch pass for myself. Then, one year later, I discovered that the punch passes are only good for one year. yet ANOTHER characteristic of punch passes that was different from other gyms I've been to and again, it was not made clear on their website, nor was it explained to me by the staff at the time of purchase. Instead, I was expected to read the fine print of a form to know that, at a time I was filling out a ton of waivers and forms already under pressure to get a bunch of kids climbing. This feels extremely deceptive to omit this critical information from the website and to not have it verbally communicated by the staff at the time of purchase. Yes, I should have read it, but I had so much else to read, and regardless, they had many ways of communicating this clearly and chose not to, hoping to cheat me out of money. It worked.I got a call from the manager, Devan, which I thought was nice of them to call me back, but then his comments basically amounted to "Too bad. You lost." I asked if there was anything he could do, and he said no. I informed him I would be taking my business to Inner Peaks in Charlotte. He said he was sorry to hear that, but I don't think he was. Just a little bit of a concession would have made all the difference. One day pass, or an added month to my punch pass to get a few more climbs in. Anything would have been seen as a nice gesture and acknowledgement that the terms should have been made more clear to me. But nothing. He was glad that their scam worked and he stole my money, so he doesn't care.Just checked the website again. It still says:Punch Pass8 punch: $120Includes shoes and harnessJust a little text there saying "Non-transferable, expires after 1 year" would allow people to make a plan and be prepared before arrival, but they choose not to add that so they can trick people into spending money they can't use. Don't let them fool you too.

Really awesome experience, I was a bit self-conscious at first being plus size and all but the staff was really helpful and made it a great experience. They answered all my questions and went over all rules and even pointed out a good section to start in I definitely would come back.

Has potential if they added more workers to be around this place with no support or supervision.

Be aware that they run camps and bring in other huge groups of children for a good portion of the day and getting on a wall under a 9 is basically impossible. Up to 60 kids on a single day at one time is what I experienced—unable to use my membership over and over. I learned to call ahead and each time it was the same story. Super busy with kids all summer. I wasted four months of membership. Lesson learned!

Too busy! ALL THE TIME! Overrun with children to the point they can't accommodate them. They offer a membership over the summer but then have summer camps and bring in other schools/camps/day care to the tune of 60+ kids in a day -- making the ability to climb under a 9 or 10 route nearly impossible-- all day long. I love kids and am happy to share and wait my turn but there simply isn't enough under 9 climbing routes to accommodate everyone in a reasonable time frame. They don't care about their customers, especially a beginner. Just their bottom line. The people who work here have been very kind and understanding about it (except the management) but when I asked to cancel my membership on the 21st they said I missed it by a day and had to pay another month--I get they have a policy but I've paid $432 (including next month) and been able to climb 4 times in 3 months-- due to the gym being so packed. It makes me not even want to make the trip to try to climb. Unfortunate because I used to love to climb (at another gym).

While in NC on a family-visit vacation, our group of 9 - 4 kids ages 9, 10 and 13 plus 5 adults - went to Cliff Hangers which had been highly recommended to us by our local family. We arrived to a more than half-full parking lot but found the cavernous insides not crowded at all! The staff were very friendly, very professional and very helpful, especially with the kids - fitting their harnesses and answering their endless questions. The kids were the only climbers in our group and they had a BLAST. First in the upstairs "learning area" then downstairs for the full-on climbs. (It was soooo hot and muggy outside that we by-passed the outdoors climbing area seen in the multiple pictures others have posted.) Of course, our kids only used the auto-belay climbs but the downstairs climbing area had adults free-climbing and also with the manual-belay (???) climbs. There was NEVER any problem with the mix of adults and kids and the very-chill-staff were constantly patrolling, keeping everybody safe and sound. All-in-all, a very enjoyable afternoon with both time and money WELL-SPENT!!! We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Cliff Hangers to everyone!

First experience ever bouldering and rope climbing. Nice facility with helpful staff. Seems like they have a lot of options for all levels of experience including an outdoor wall. Nice locker rooms and lots of gear available for purchase.

It's one of the best local rock climbing gyms I've ever been to. Their route setters are incredible at what they do, and it never feels like it's too crowded. I highly recommend this gym over others in the area.
