Tried renting a 26ft truck for Friday and bring it back on Saturday they wanted to charge me an extra day 99.99 bucks because there store wasn't open when I was bringing it back. Um no you have a drop box has to be a person they said. So im paying for 24hrs Friday at 4 to Saturday at 4 but because your store closes at 11am I have to pay an extra day and not get my 24hrs and then let truck sit in my driveway till 9am Sunday heck no just stupid.

The folks were nice and attentive although they allowed customers in with no masks. The car had been heavily smoked in and I informed the agent of this. It sucked but wasn't worth waiting again for a different car. I was an hour late turning the car in to FLL and was charged $82 for the hour. Some of that hour was eaten up with a late start as i had to find (and pay for) air to fill the low right rear. I called the help line and they say the charge was legitimate.....ok. I am a regular with Avis which is the same company but this experience was not good.

DO NOT USE THEM! Rented me a moving truck with a blown tire!! Then had to wait on the side of the highway for over 4 hours to be fixed! Best part they want to refund me $40. We could have a severe accident as the tire was so bad the rim was bent. AWFUL!!! Pay a little more and use another company. Check the BB their reviews of these types of things are on going and never ending. Yikes!! Wish I looked further.

Reserved a truck 3.5 weeks ahead of time and they call 2 days before pickup, on a holiday before a weekend, and tell me they don't have a truck. What good is a RESERVATION? If I could give the 0 stars, I would!

We booked our reservation for 9am on a Thursday a few months in advance. We get there to pick it up and the employee tells us that they have no cars for us even though we had a reservation. So, he sent us to the Concord Budget which added an hour onto our trip. We called corporate and told them what happened and what complete crap it was, and the supervisor didn't care in the slightest bit. As a matter of fact, they charged up $20 more to rent from the budget in concord even though it was their fault. They didn't offer any kind of compensation or even a discount considering this whole thing was their fault! This company doesn't care about customer service a single bit and they will never get our service again. Beware of this place!

I have booked from all different car rental companies (Hertz, Enterprise, National, Dollar, Thrifty, local) and this was the first time booking with Budget. I can only say about the Mooresvile location on Hwy #7. Vicki is incompetent; she lies to cover up for her mistakes; she doesn't know how to listen as she talks over you; she blames the system and also the customer when it's actually her fault; i pre-paid for a whole week and then I go to pick it up and she tells me that she has to downgrade me because she thought I hadn't paid for it already and tells me the size i rented for sold out '3 days ago' when i booked it 10 days before that. after that, she tells me that she will refund me the difference for downsizing me wrongly and tells me to get moving, hands the key and just goes to the back and stays there. the whole place reeks of smoke so she probably smokes cigarettes at the back. when i returned the car, she tells me she refunded me for downsizing me to the smallest car possible, and 2 days later, I find out that she charged me instead of refunding me the difference. i call her and she tells me she didn't make a mistake but the system did. and tells me i have to wait 3-4 weeks for the refund. she also can't do simple math; if she charged me 100 instead of refunding me 100, then it should be 200 (wrongly being charged + difference of wrongly being downsized), not just 100 lol. she is a totally incompetent to say the least and if i were running budget, i would fire her immediately and would've never hired her in the first place. lastly, she tells me to call this number (she doesn't actually give me the number) and then hangs up and refuses to pick up the phone when I tried calling again. she is a complete moron and I'll never rent from Budget again.

Worst customer service ever! Was told at customer service I could exchange crappy, smokey car for an upgrade and they gave me a code. Sent me from Tampa international to charlotte which was the only place that had a standard car. In charlotte we were told those people at customer service aren't even in this country they don't know what there talking about! We can't exchange the car. Omg worst experience ever! I am a cancer patient and was given a smoky car! It was the only one they had on the lot and told us we could exchange it down the road at Tampa International! Liars and thieves with worst customer service ever! We will NEVER use them again. Wish I could give them a 0.

May 2015 by Daniel Rhodes
I rented a truck from here on the 20th of May, 2015. I rented a 24 foot diesel truck, the largest Budget offers. I have several issues with the service received. First, though, I want to stress that the people at this location are fine. They were helpful and courteous. I repeat: I have no problem with the people at this location. The people are the only reason I am not giving a one-star review. I have problems with the company overall. First, the truck was a wreck. One of the tie-down rails in the box was off completely, leaving a nail-filled board for me to contend with, and several of the other rails were about to fall off. this meant I could not tie down my belongings where I needed to. At the top front corner on the right side was a sharp and twisted piece of metal. This truck should not have been rented. The air conditioning did not work at all. While this might not be an issue in Canada, or during the winter, I assure you that in Mooresville, NC on a day that approached 90 degrees, it was an issue. I would not be bothered by this if there had been some warning, or a discount for a truck with no A/C, but there was none. I have rented U-Haul trucks before and the A/C has always been fine. Finally, and perhaps worst of my equipment woes, the appliance hand-truck was crap. It was worn out, with a bent box-carrier, and a strap worn nearly through. I would not trust this with a refrigerator. Worst, though, the single strap was at a level too-high to use for washer and dryer. I had to use my own large hand-truck and a ratchet strap to secure my washer and dryer. Meaning that the rented hand-truck was useless. I called the budget customer-service number, and was told that the best they could do was give me 15% (yes, 15) off the base-rate of the truck. This amounted to $7. The (useless and damaged) hand-truck cost me $17 to add to the rental. I later called back to talk to a supervisor. After waiting (phone ringing) for the supervisor to answer for 12 minutes, I finally gave up. I am going to go into the location tomorrow and try to get some sort of satisfaction, but right now I suggest that everyone go to U-Haul. I have had a terrible experience with Budget. The people at this location are fine, but the company is terrible. GO TO U-HAUL.
