After the new management took over, HORRIBLE service. You get the run around along with lies. There’s always a price increase, I never got a notice. Then if you want to negotiate the price it’s a late fee. It’s not worth the stress, or the company should get new people.

Horrible! This location has gone down hill since purchased by SafeNest. Our storage unit and items smelled like cigarette smoke. Temperature controlled units likely aren't much different than regular units. Our building was same temp as outside. Price increase at least every 4-6 months. We were paying 3x online price. Buildings not clean. Can never reach anyone by phone at location.

Terry and James were extremely helpful and accommodating. I would recommend SafeNest Storage to anyone in the area looking for a clean and affordable storage space.

Nice facility, but recently under new management and it is hard to get a hold of someone on the phone. Been here 1 year and rate has increased twice since new management.
Update- adding stars due to finally getting in contact with facility. They have addressed my issues and are helping to take care of it. I appreciate their promptness to my requests.

I've had this storage unit for almost two years. I moved in January of 2022. As others have said the staff were nice, and accommodating. Etc.
About six months after moving in, the first issue occurred. This location became "remote". Any issues you had needed to be brought to the other location of Safenest up the road. It's like 600 feet up the road, which isn't a big deal but it's slightly annoying as now whenever you need anything you need to go there instead of where you are.
About a month later. I had a nasty issue with mice in my unit. Make heft little dumpy loads off brown on everything. Lucky for me I had the $11 a month insurance plan. Unlucky for me the insurance only covered $500.
I had damage to some of my wires, photos and clothing. Most of my expensive recording studio equipment got pooped on, desk + speakers, pedals, outboard gear. Etc. Most of the poop on the desk. I got $500 as a settlement check to cover everything. As they can't exceed that. I hate germs and have both Germaphobia and OCD. So cleaning this was incredibly gross for me. It took me an entire day of scrubbing everything with disinfectant and cleaning the unit down with chemical cleaner to make sure all bacteria was gone.
Entire process took two months from start to finish, with a couple of weeks of back and forth with the insurance company, myself and property manage. They were cool, and took my side. I have to commend them here. For people who want to buy the protection service. I'd say it's worth it, but be prepared to make lots of phone calls and deal with multiple facets of communication. You will put in work. Pictures are your best friend.
Following the mouse infestation incident, the management promptly installed mouse boxes throughout the facility to prevent future occurrences. While I haven't seen any mouse droppings since then, there are other cleanliness issues that persist. There are dead bugs scattered around, cobwebs, spiderwebs, dirt, and sand accumulate, especially during ladybug season, which leaves shell casings near the entrances. I find myself constantly brushing off the door to my unit to remove dead spiders.
Additionally, there are no trash receptacles inside the units, nor is there a dumpster for client use. This means I have to sweep up and dispose of the trash outside the unit myself. It's important to be prepared to handle your own maintenance in this regard.
I became aware of the rodent issue when I considered moving to a larger unit, which the management accommodated without any fees or hassle. However, since relocating, I've noticed a pattern of rent increases every six months. For example, in December 2023, the rent went up from $79.00 to $86.50, and then in June 2024, it increased again to $104.50 for the climate-controlled 5x15 unit. These frequent increases are one of the reasons I've decided to leave.
I noticed another unit available for the same price, an 8x20, in the same building and thought it would be a straightforward switch. However, Terry informed me that moving to a different unit of the same price wasn't permitted after the first move, as they aim to prevent customers from avoiding the $35 moving fee and potential rent increases. This policy seemed designed to maximize profits, which was disappointing. My goal was to avoid paying the rent increase because, why? They stated this is normal for storage units to do, but the last six ive called on my search for a new unit stated they only raise it after you move out. I can't knock them for their policy, but I'm a person of principle
and fairness and doing the right thing. This aint it.
Since today is the 2nd, I'm finalizing my move to ensure I'm not charged for another month. I'll be vacating within the next three days, and as a result, the facility will lose me as a customer. While I&

Very helpful. I've rented three units from them. Thank you!
Update; VERY disappointed to find out they were charging me SO much more than new customers, and kept going up! When I inquired about it, they said they can increase at any time, at any amount! Beware -- they will! It was increasing again by more than $50/mo.!!

SafeNest on Mooresville highway is unsafe. As a current, paying customer, I have been trapped at the gate to leave for over 30 min and have now been given another number to call as no one can help me. When I asked to be let out they informed me that they COULD give me a code but that they would have to charge me for it. Not only is this obviously ridiculous it is incredibly unsafe. DO NOT COME HERE.

Safe Nest Mooresville has been awesome. Rented a unit for myself in June, smooth easy process at a great price. Then the rest of my family moved here, rented one unit but day of move in realized we needed two. The gentleman that helped me (on the morning of 9/21/23) was beyond amazing and patient. We had no idea how big of a unit we needed and he had to redo our lease several times over the phone while I had my 80 year old grandparents, dogs barking, and the gardener all in the background. I was stressed and all over the place, but he was calm and comforting during the entire process. He was so awesome and helpful! Highly recommended!
