They found a dog who jumped the fence, didn’t contact the owner and ended him killing the dog. Dog didn’t do anything and was the sweetest.

I would give zero stars if I could. Animal control in its name states controlling animals. My neighborhood has a huge stray cat problem. They do nothing about it. They allowed me to get a cage, one officer, said I could keep it as long as I was bringing in cats. I was, I took him up to about 20 to 30 cats. One day I got a call from another officer that stated I could only have the cage for a week. And that I needed to bring it back now. I told him that due to their location I was not making that drive without having a cat in the cage. They came and got the cage and banned me from getting cages again. Now, one of the stray cats has been attacked by a dog. They want to come shoot the cat in my yard and have me dig a hole to bury him. I said I didn’t want them to do that especially in front of my family. Response from officer was he didn’t care. I also told him I am slightly disabled and can’t dig an hole, his response was it wasn’t his problem. Absolutely ridiculous. This division needs to be shut down as it is absolutely useless.

Fast, friendly service. Easy to locate, smooth, handoff process.I constantly see stray cats wandering the woods behind my apartment building.I was able to catch a young tabby kitten last night before going to work. She was very friendly, no hissing scratching or biting. But she would not eat, and probably requires medical attention.I would have loved to keep her, but my family already has two dogs, and two small children. I contacted Union County animal services and they said I could bring her at any time before 5 PM.The staff shows compassion forthe animals in their care.I hope they can help her recover and getadopted. Thank you for your service.!

I hate that people come out to my area and drop off dogs and cats. Well a cat showed up very affectionate we considered keeping him but something attacked him and we don’t have the means to care for him. Thankfully the animal shelter took him. They said they could help him. I hope he makes someone very happy. I affectionately called him squeaker. The only thing I don’t like about the animal shelter is the website says they are open on Saturday but the only part open was the adoption side.

People were friendly. They should have an on-call person in case you need to pick up your animal on holidays.

This place is not a shelter. A pitbull is not adoptable and will be put down after a short time if not rescued. Sad situation.

I found 6 kittens in my neighbors driveway under a not used truck picked them up and took them to what you're all call Union county Animal Shelter. I was told very uncertain things. The kittens properly was a pound each this grown man acted like I had brought in 6 lions I am a sham to say that my taxes pay for this people. Needless to say I called and talked to the supervisor and vented about all this . When back and picked them up and will take them to charlotte no kill shelter. Also I will try my best to get you guys in the newspaper.

Very helpful and friendly folks helped us find new homes for the overcrowding of cats in our neck of the woods. They do their best to get as many adopted as possible, but as a responsible cat friend, you need to do more than just feed strays. You should commit to get them spayed or neutered or the population just gets crazy. I was hopeful to see good turnover in the adoption area between visits, so that means a lot are getting new homes!
