Mills River Park

Hours: Mills River Park is a comfortable, well-maintained, and friendly community park. It is a great spot for a family gathering or for kids, featuring fun-looking play structures, a covered playground, and baby/kid swings. The park offers a nice little area for picnics with one large shelter and a number of picnic tables, including some down by the river. For recreation, there are basketball courts, tennis courts, a soccer field, and a baseball field. The park is very quiet, not at all crowded, and always kept clean with the grass always cut. A key feature is the small river that runs alongside it, offering several access points and a trail to follow. The river gets wider but shallow farther down, with many river rocks great for skipping or building. The walking trail is an asphalt path, maybe a half-mile loop. It is a dog-friendly park with a dedicated dog park area, which includes a separate section for small dogs. This area is noted for its welcoming pet owners who have formed a community. While the main trails require dogs to be on leash, the dog park allows them off leash. The park provides a long track and the river trail for exercise. It is a very nice spot that is clean and well-maintained, with restrooms available.
