I like banking with SECU, but this branch has messed up my household account twice now in the span of 2-3 weeks, which sucks because it is really close to my home.First thing was my husband's check being double deposited in my account for a cashier's check.We went there on a Friday (8th) around 4-4:30, which still leaves about an hour to come across the mistake, but they didn't.Over the weekend, some of the money was used as I was expecting money to come into my account from a different transaction, so we didn't question why we were able to use my card.Monday morning rolls around and I get a few calls and a concerning voicemail from the teller that worked with us on Friday. Stating that "I need to call as soon as possible back to them" in almost a panic voice like if she was going to cry.When I do call back, she tells me that she deposited twice the check and that with my consent they are going to overdraft my account to get all the money back.Then she says something among the lines of "you have to pay the remaining negative balance by today ideally, if not your account will be closed and you will have limited services with SECU"When I explained to her why the money was used over the weekend, she snapped back "well, I checked your account transactions and you did use it. You used it. You didn't get any money into your account. You used money that wasn't yours"After speaking with my husband, we both felt that answer was not right (regarding the account closing) and was also not the right way to talk to a client.I call in and ask to speak to a manager who THANKFULLY was a day and night comparison from the teller, who calmly explained we had a week to fix my account before it went to collections and genuinely had a much better attitude. She actually even thanked me for working with them through this. I fixed it within 2 days.Now the second one, happened this morning. My husband went to check his account and come to find out almost $200 are missing and he sees that 3 consecutive payments for his loan were taken out this morning.We were close to the Carrboro location, where we actually started our accounts with, so we went in to check.The assistant manager prints out the transactions for my husband's loan while checking the system. Come to find out, the last 3 payments that were done INSIDE the Mebane branch by the tellers were put into the system wrong, so it showed my husband was "3 months behind", which he obviously isn't.The assistant manager at the Carrboro branch was even apologizing for the mistake the Mebane branch did and corrected it. Hopefully within and hour or so, or at the end of the day we will see this corrected on my husband's account.At this point, I would rather drive 10 more minutes to the other branch in Burlington or go to the one in Hillsborough.

Love the people in the bank! But why does the atm never let me take money out or deposit cash. Kind of a huge inconvenience.

Called to get information about my account and was treated like a sub-human. Didn't address my issue. Considering closing accounts. And moving to NFCU since I'm a former Marine.

I set up a few different accounts with my father - I'm a state employee and he was eligible to join thru me. Their savings/loan rates aren't as good as online banks but better than many big banks. They do have an array of products, and you can donate your $1 month checking fee to their charity foundation. This location was well staffed, and Debbie was great to work with in setting up our accounts. It's nice to bank with a local credit union, so we're very happy to bring some of personal finance here.

Called Thursday and asked if they accepted Federal Employees the lady on the phone said yes just bring your badge or paystub. Went to the Mebane branch Friday only for the lady to be rude and say this is State. Yes, I know state from federal, however, the lady on the phone said that you all had a program to allow Federal Employees. I asked if she could double check because someone on the phone gave wrong information. She says “ummm well I have told you but I’ll double check and tell you again”. All the extra was really uncalled for. I do know state from Federal and that’s why I called to ask. I never would have wasted gas if I was not told “yes”. Nothing wrong with being nice and professional it cost us nothing.

The Mebane branch needs to wear gloves if they are going to hand out mask along with teller's touching cash and spreading germs with no gloves, what good is a mask if you spread germs with everything you touch. no one is wiping down door knobs or pens ..... what good is it to half way do something

This place is so great, I go there a lot. I'm going to tomorrow for my taxes and sign in the 1st week ,they got my taxes done, Thank You, Greatly appreciate
