Had an issue with the car after a tierod replacement + alignment and brought it back to them the next week. They diagnosed and fixed within the hour under warranty. Excellent service. (Props to Vincent who's been working on my car for a year now).They take good care of the car and have fair pricing.

Encounter a rude lady at hertz rental and had and suddenly a fat dude from pep boys starting shouting at me to walk out .I told him to mind his business at his desk and when I got outside waiting for my ride .This fat dude came right outside and met and wanted to get physical with me.I didn’t know the owner of this place but monsters like that are not suppose to work there

Best pep boys I have ever been to. I paid $95 at my location in Tallahassee (way more than their website said) to get my tires balanced and have had so many issues ever since and when I brought it back to that location they told me I had a $600 issue that I could not afford to fix. I brought my car into this pep boys location in Matthews and this super sweet guy named Vincent told me that was indeed the problem and fixed it for me for free (since I had it under warranty from the Tallahassee location). They are so helpful and nice here and got everything fixed so quickly and fixed the error of the Tallahassee location without trying to scam me out of more money. Definitely go here if you have car troubles!

Pep boys changed my oil and with a coupon the price was really good!Told me about my brakes and tires...i had asked for tire totation but 2 tires need replacing before that can happen. Also suggested I get brake repair soon.Very pleased!

I wanted to like pep boys because its easy to get an appointment and they're probably the closest mechanic to me but I gave them 3 chances in the past year with 3 separate cars and I didn't have one good experience there.First I took my car in to change a tire sometime in late summer 2023 and even though I showed up on time for my appointment I had to wait two hours for them to work on cars that were ahead of me. If you are that slow you cannot book as many appointments as you do. Why did I even have to make an appointment if they were nowhere near schedule? I was treated no differently than if I was a walk in. On the bright side the guy at the front(Vincent) was very polite about it and seemed like he really understood the inconvenience of it all.The second experience I had was just last week I took my girlfriend's maxima to pep boys for an appointment because it was overheating and they called the next day saying to repair everything(the radiator and many hoses and tanks) it would cost over $3,000. Another mechanic did all of the work for considerably less. Also again, they made us wait overnight before they even got a chance to look at the car. What is the point in letting us book appointments on the website if the store is too busy to stay on schedule. The ease of booking an appointment was the main reason I always chose pep boys and its really just a very overly optimistic website.My third experience was today and the last time I will go to pep boys. When I first took the maxima in last week I asked if the man at the front(bigger older guy, not Vincent) could also look up availability on jaguar control arms that I need replaced so I can get an inspection by the end of the year. He seemed annoyed that I was asking him a question about a car that wasn't physically there and kind of brushed it off assuring me that he would need to wait until my actual appointment today so he could use the vin number and find the exact control arms that I need. That would normally be a valid excuse however today when I got there, he looks up jaguar control arms in the pep boys system(without ever getting the vin number) and sees that regardless of which specific control arm I need, they are all unavailable. If this lazy mf would've just looked it up for me when I asked last week I wouldn't have had to waste my time today. Now because of this it cost me one week of my deadline to get the work done so I can get my car inspected, and I was forced to drive my jaguar with bad control arms all the way to pep boys and back for something that could've just been handled prior. I also don't like how despite it asking for information on the website, it always seems like they don't know anything about what I need until I get there and I'm asked questions that they'd know the answer to if they read everything I wrote when I booked the appointment. Even if I didn't specifically ask last week about availability of the parts, it would be much more efficient if somebody were to look up availability based on my appointment, and call me to tell me that they can't get the parts. Instead I wasted my time and they wasted an appointment that could've been for another customer, not that an appointment here really means anything anyways.I will not be back to pep boys and I will recommend everyone I know not to go as well. Overall the actual mechanics here seem like they do good work it's just the management/system itself that I disagree with and I'd like to hope all of these are issues that could be fixed in the future but for me personally, it is time I move on to trying to find a mechanic who I can trust to actually prioritize my needs as a customer.

One of your employees, a young pregnant woman, walked directly past me while waiting for service at the counterand sat in the back and talk to her coworker while I stood there, waiting for someone to help me, so I just left and had to do the maintenance myself on a fleet vehicle for the sake of time, please hire people that actually care about their job or at the very least can acknowledge a customer that walks through the door and not walk past them, rolling their eyes at the sight of them.

I was in need of tires and after several quotes I called Pep Boys (Matthews location). It was the best decision. I got an appointment for the next morning. When I arrived I was quickly checked in and only took about 1.5 hours to leave with my new set of tires. The service was great & the price was fantastic. I got several promo discounts and had tires for hundreds of dollars less than what other tire companies were quoting for SUV size tires. I was impressed and have been suggesting them to everyone!Vincent is the manager and he was very thorough and efficient with my service

Ordered tires online on a Thursday. Set a noon appointment for the next day. Arrived and my vehicle was in the bay and being attended to in about 10 minutes. I was out the door in just over an hour. Great job. Didn't try to upsale me or tell them that something else was wrong with my vehicle.

I arrived at Pep Boys as I was supposed to at 5:58 PM to Pick up my vehicle The doors were locked. I was told to arrive and pick up my car before 7 PM when the establishment closes. I was here and there was no one here and now I have no car to drive and I have no way to get home. that's why I left one star review. I hope that makes sense for everybody. Stay blessed.
