I initially found out about Kitchen Tune-Up in Charlotte, NC thru their TV ad. They're listed with BBB, had no complaints, and had good online reviews. I was especially drawn to them because I didn't want to spend many thousands of dollars getting my entire kitchen re-done in order to have new glass cupboard doors. I liked the idea of a refacing instead. It did take several weeks from project start to finish, but I found it to be worth the wait. I was skeptical at first, but after seeing their brand new showroom and each segment of my project being done so well, my fears were allayed. There were a few finishing touches that needed fine tuning once the project was almost finished, and the last person to show up worked really hard to complete it. I found the employees to be professional and have a good work ethic, as the owner undoubtedly instilled in them to go above and beyond to please their customers. I was told if any problems were to arise, to give them a call and they would attend to it. Would definitely recommend this franchise!

In 2019 I bought a 30 unit Bloomdale Apartment complex in the Costwold area with dated 1990 kitchen decor. Because the whole industry is competing with listing photos, until 2022 I was not competing successfully when trying to raise my rents with new LVT floors and paint in a safe close-in neighborhood.
Kitchen Tune-up was willing to work with me to paint out the cabinets in white and do a shaker style redoor. Along with adding LVT floors and new appliances I have been able to visually compete, and successfully raised my renovated rents from $795 to $1075 over the last couple of years as tenants turned.
With the submarket average rent of only $1,200, the unappealing alternative was facing all of the vacancy costs of a full forced tenant-turnover and renovation project, installing the granite and stainless steel bells and whistles, to probably unsuccessfully compete directly with new construction and not get the economically necessary higher rents that other submarkets might command.
The Kitchen Tune-up staff has been easy to work with and cooperated well in the renovation project timelines.

We had a mini face lift for our kitchen and replaced all the cabinet and drawer fronts, backsplash and, countertops. We had the absolute pleasure of working with Demi. She was so helpful (and calming LOL) and was always available. Having the chance to work with owner, Tom, and the rest of the team was also a fantastic experience! And we LOVE our kitchen!

My husband and I had a great experience working with Kitchen Tune-Up. We were able to meet with them in their office prior to starting our kitchen renovation and they provided us with several counter and cabinet samples, several pictures of projects they had completed and a detailed itemized breakdown of costs. We were able to make a clear decision of how to proceed after this meeting. They completed our kitchen renovation in about 3 weeks and the final product is modern, well constructed and absolutely lovely!! Kitchen Tune-Up subsequently followed-up with us after the project to correct any problems that were outstanding. They were easily accessible throughout the project which was also great! I highly recommend Kitchen Tune-Up to anyone seeking to renovate their kitchen.

Very expensive and work took months and months...they gave us a quote for countertops that when we agreed to came in at double due to their salesman measuring incorrectly. Their response was oops....and to blame it on the granite company...we were left with trying to find our own granite supplier or pay double in the middle of the project with a torn apart kitchen...Salesperson was unaware of company offerings...we were told they did not offer pull outs for existing cabinets but the foreman told us they did..Our custom island came in incorrectly and we had to wait forever to have it corrected...we had a good foreman Danny but he left mid project. At the end we just paid the balance even though the last of the work was left unfinished just to get them out of our house. The office always has an excuse as to why you are not contacted or notified about things...It looks pretty but was an expensive, long and painful process.

Tom Taube and his employees are absolutely the best to work with. Our new kitchen is so much better than I could ever have imagined. Tom was easy to work with, prompt to answer questions and offer great suggestions. Added plus, he's just a super nice guy. Quality work done in an efficient manner by great people, couldn't ask for more!Services: Kitchen countertop installation

Kitchen Tune Up did an incredible job on our entire kitchen re-moldel. From the consultation to an entire new kitchen it was early or on time at each stage. Hands down the best re-model/new build experience we have ever had...and super nice people to work with as well. Call them...I'm telling you it will be a 100% great experience! We are very happy with the job Kitchen Tune Up did with our remodel! The workmen were professioinal and courteous, did quality work & we enjoyed having them in our home. Tom was also easy to work with and communicated promptly to resolve any concerns or questions we had. We are looking forward to having them come back to do more work in the future.Service: Remodeling

Salesperson missed the appointment. She was a no show for an in home appointment. Called but never gave a quote. Only wanted to deal with someone spending $10,000 plus. Very bad customer service.

All work was completed to our satisfaction. Good value for the price. Had a few "Hiccups" during the process but the Owner, Tom came out to see us and took care of our concerns. This type of customer service is lacking with most companies today. This alone would give me good reason to recommend them or use them again with future projects.Keith BishopServices: Tile work replacement

Kitchen Tune Up updated our kitchen - we have them painted the existing cabinets, moved some cabinets around and replaced all drawers. They also arranged the work for backsplash, countertop, sink and appliance updates. We have been pleased with the process from the initial consultation until the final walkthrough. The people that we have been in contact with are very knowledgeable and very good at what they do. The scheduling team has been wonderful with handling any additions/changes without missing anything. We appreciate their ability to schedule the project in a way that minimizes the inconvenience of not having full use of the kitchen. We would definitely consider Kitchen Tune Up for future remodeling projects.Services: Kitchen cabinet installation

Save yourself some time and call someone else. I scheduled my appointment. They say someone will call you or your appointment will be canceled. OK, so I basically had to call and say no one called me, am I still scheduled? Someone finally calls me comes out, does there speech and says I'll get back to you after I'm back from vacay next week. It's been 3 weeks. Not impressed. Guess they don't want my money, and after the speech I got about how my side by side built in oven and microwave are gonna be a challenge, which they shouldn't be as I've already gotten 2 other estimates on how to handle them, I'm just speechless about how they can get any work at all given the other reviews. This business says they pride themselves in returning calls to their customers, it's in their ads, and when you call them and they run through their selling points. Guess they don't realize the customer remembers things, especially when they will be spending lots of money for a full kitchen remodel. The guy even left all his notes/paperwork in my kitchen!

First and foremost, if I had REALLY done my research I would NOT have chosen this outfit. My project started the same time as Bill P's review. I also agree with LeAnne's review. I also got the impression that my project was treated differently after I refused to let the sub-contracted painter continue with his debacle. So bottom line, I have to own up to my BIG mistake. I tried to wait until the installation was "complete" before writing a review, but it is up to me to save the next hardworking person TIME and MONEY. Not five minutes ago I had to deal with another instance of POOR customer service. Cabinet door installer - "I'm done." I ask what that means since I don't see door handles and knobs and today is the SECOND day of the installation (Monday was the first day). Installer- "I'm hungry and tired and I'm done for the day." Me - Wait a minute is this the way you talk to a customer, how about Ms. Belinda, this is where we are.... the knobs and handles need to be mounted, but I need to leave for the day. The subpar customer service and workmanship warrants further details, especially after I had to pay a professional painter to repaint the cabinet boxes done by a KTU sub-contractor. I digress, there is a response from Yelp while I'm typing - "Are you done, you're on a roll." No, I'm not. Photos to follow, stay "TUNED." Belinda C.

Negative stars: Disreputable, Untrustworthy, Forgetful, No attention to detail, Not Prompt, Unpleasant to deal with - just bad with people. Do your self a favor and look elsewhere for remodel needs - this company is full of red flags and gave me that bad gut feeling you get that tell you to run...I did and you should too. I have a $20k budget, Among a few others, I contacted Kitchen Tune Up, hoping to get a quote for cabinets, counters, sink, backsplash, flooring, trim - everything. I made the appt then in coming days got two reminder emails - great sign. Today, the appointment time comes and goes - I wait 15min and call. Got a call back from woman and then immediately a confrontational man gets on the phone. He's not apologetic about missing appt, and says they like to talk to people before the in home appt (this was AFTER the appt they blew off) - anyway I'm asked to regurgitate details of my request so they know what to pack in the vehicle for samples (they haven't even packed the vehicle yet). I explained about the two reminder emails and that I left work to make the appt - still no apology. I was then told it will take them 10min to get here after they load up - it's now 30min after the appt time. They either forgot about the appt or are completely disorganized and couldn't be bothered to call ahead of time.
