Had a very great experience at the Matthews, NC location. McKenzie was a gem! It was my first time at this location and I was happy with the service. I made my appointment online in advance and had no trouble signing myself in once I arrived.

My intro massage was weak. I’ve had BETTER. My feet wasn’t even touched. It was like she was scared to actually massage me. I hope being black wasn’t a factor, but I’ll be going elsewhere and never back here. I’m use to going to places where they really give you a work up even in the intro. She just poked and probed at me. 1 to 2 times here and there then she moved on. A waste of time and I should reach out to my bank and report fraud.

I LOVE Becca! She is the best!! But the administration is the worst!! Because Becca is so good, I have to schedule an appointment several in advance but Hand and Stone lose them! Four times!!! How do you do that?? I canceled my membership after the 4th time. I will miss Becca!!
Spoke with the management and they were very accommodating and very kind. We were able to come to a mutual understanding. I increased the my rating because I believe that reviews are for working through issues and how those issues are handled. Thank you Hand and Stone.

I've worked with a couple of the massage therapist here, but hands down Maria is my go to person.

I really don’t know what to say except for Maria is the best massage therapist I’ve ever had. She is phenomenal really knows her stuff and if Maria can’t see me, I don’t see anyone.

Visiting the Hand & Stone in Matthews was such a relaxing experience. The front desk staff were friendly when I arrived and the lobby area was well maintained. My massage and facial were both wonderful and much needed. Both professionals were knowledgeable and most importantly, I left feeling better than when I arrived. This location offers a wide variety of services so anyone can find what they’re looking for.

On my quest to find superb day spa services in Charlotte, I decided to take advantage of their signature massage and facial deal. This is a storefront spa located in Matthews. It has your run of the mill services and product offerings. Overall, it felt commercial like Massage Envy from beginning to end. Not to discredit the service providers I had, I have greater expectations based on past experiences. My massage was very light touch from a provider that seemed a bit timid, and his energy was off. This is important to me when working in this capacity. When making my appointment, I was forewarned he only specialized in H&S's "relaxation" technique. To my dismay, I experience a not so pleasant massage based on my standards. I could tell the young man was trying his best and was methodical in his technique; it just was not what I am accustomed to or desire. My facial was better than the massage: very relaxing from a skilled aesthetician. She was able to use the correct products based on her assessment and me divulging my concerns. My face still feels hydrated. I did not like the finishing serum. While it provided protection, a glow, and ample hydration, once it dried, it felt tacky and heavy. I'm not 100% certain that I would return for a massage at this time... Perhaps another hydrating facial, but it would likely be via another special than the full rate. Hand and Stone is a decent franchise spa with affordable rates, despite running specials. The staff is extremely polite and professional, which is why I rated them 4 stars.
