948 North Hwy #64-264, Manteo“In response to previous reviews, yes, they do close early. And yes I have walked up to the door and it's locked early. There are other stores you can go to. 7-11 and speedway always seem to be opened. I've always felt if I wait to the last minute to run out to duck thru them it's all on me. There are employees that have a hard time walking. If they wanna close early after a long day and no customers, then I have no problems with that! Jernigan Oil has issues keeping employees. So please remember, always smile, treat them with kindness. The employees are amazing. They may be different employees every few weeks, but there's no reason to get so upset over closing early! Sh-t happens, carry on with a smile?! Life's to sort and there so much to do and see, don't waste it being so worked up over super little detours in life.Y'all have a good day!”

202 US-64, Manteo“12/2020 update: The staff at the Manteo Speedway, is at best ,touch & go, there isnt alot of attention to customer service, perhaps the Covid Virus has something to do with that? When I go in, sometimes you see a mask on, but not always, depends on who is working and the time of visit' the front checkout are not always there, ready to wait on you, I've seen more than a few times, coffee or soda breaks, than walking behind counter, not hand sanitizing, which for someone like myself, finds concerning, why? Because I have a compromised immune system, & with being chronically ill" it sometimes makes me wonder why I bother? I have to request my receipt, I'd say everytime but perhaps 2 times in the last year, and having a speedway online/on phone' account..I've had my card not scan or phone, and because of no receipt, not been able to prove & get my earned points.. since noticing this, I pointedly request it, it always is as though I asked for there money.. the friendliness is not as once, occasional bouts of politeness, but I dont work there and probably show better customer service to the staff workers than they do to myself or others, also...it can be disturbing to see workers on frequent smoke breaks, where there seen at corner outside back of building, I've tried contacting the toll free speedway account # to ask for help or assistance..but no answers, and emails haven't been answered for months as well.. and if there is a sign posted saying " points for given items" than you check out & they say "Oops, that was supposed to be down" so in order words.. to bad, I still stop in on occasion, but with less cleanliness done, no rules followed in regards to NC state& County rules in the response to Covid, it's not where I go much anymore, may seem like just one person, but if I feel this way, & others do, well it adds up.. I hope to see what I see as a past favorite store make changes.. if not losing myself & others may add up to loss of profits & the store becoming a convenience store that makes it during the times we are going thru, hope not, but til it changes, get gas outside with credit, avoid inside if possible, unless your lucky enough to know you will never be susceptible to sickness or spreading to your loved ones, lucky you if that's the case.. 10/2017 Joseph, and his staff( ya all know who you are) that I'v come to know, I mean the ones who are still there not just for a couple months ,are Awesome! I have issues walking around and they are always there to lend a hand, answer a question, smile and encourage you when you've had a long day,I actually feel there like 'family " lol, and the "Speed Way ' program is a great way to earn..gas, food, gift cards, whatever you want.. I love the app. to , it's easy to use and updates constant, plus they have the best Gas prices, including the one in Kill Devil Hills, so thanks to ya all. I know you've had a lot of changes this year, but your the Best!”
