We were in town, fresh out of the meadery around the corner, and saw this dry goods store on the map and decided to check it out, especially after we saw it was haunted! Prices were great, staff was friendly, we picked up some stuff, and checked out the museum upstairs. Overall pretty neat, glad we stopped by, pretty sure they've got something you need even if you don't know it yet.

In my opinion, this is one of the best places to visit in Madison. It has been around for many years, and was always a favorite of mine, but under the new ownership it has taken on a new dimension. They have a lot of local, handmade items, including food, winter accessories, pottery, and kitchen items, as well as, clothing, including t-shirts, flannels, and jackets, to name a few. Upstairs there is a museum and other items for sale. There is a deli/bakery in operation now, with plans for expansion in 2024. The proprietor is a pleasant and friendly young man who has never seen a stranger and he makes the experience even better. I'm buying a lot of my Christmas presents there this year, because you just can't find this uniqueness anywhere else. Go visit! You'll be glad you did.

Very sneaky. They added $2 to the bill because I used a credit card. They should post it or tell you. Everyone uses cards or Apple Pay. Not coming back. The cashier completely ignored me. He was on the phone asking if his order was shipped. Made 3 phone calls while I was at the counter. I would have commented about the extra charge but the mustachio was just too busy on the phone. Not a happy shopper. Not coming back. NOT HONEST!

Madison Dry Goods is a hidden gem in the cutest little town, not far from the bigger cities. The jingle of the bell as you walk in immediately takes you back in time. This is a place where everyone can find something that they want or need, or if nothing else, a warm smile and gracious greeting from the store owner. If you haven’t been, take the drive to Madison and stop in soon!

Went to @madison_dry_goods as we were doing a little ghost hunting around NC. Funny thing is the week we moved to NC I was watching @netflix 28 days haunted and they were at Madison Dry Goods in Madison NC. I IMMEDIATELY put it on my ghost hunting bucket list (yes I have one!) and since it's my birthday week we took a little stay cation and stopped in. This place is really neat. The owners have done a great job making it feel like it did back when it opened. It's eerie but fascinating. The Lawson family murder museum is on the second floor and there is so much info on their sad story. We kept hearing creaking in one corner and after we were out of the embalming room it dropped about 10 degrees in there. We all experienced some sort of spooky sensation. We will definitely be back to experience the 3rd level!!!!!!

We've been coming here for 20+ years and it never disappoints. For years it was just an old dry good store that sold clothing and your typical country jellies and bake mixes and things like that but in the last year ownership has changed and it's still pretty much the same but they've opened up a little cafe which serves phenomenal sandwiches and probably the best cinnamon rolls you've ever had. The upstairs has a museum which is dedicated to a family back in the 1920s where the father unfortunately murdered his entire family and I think they were embalmed and the second floor of this building and apparently it is one of the most haunted buildings in America and has people from all over the place that come and visit it. But it's definitely worth the trip if you're in Winston or Greensboro they have a lot of good clothing items for outdoors and a lot of local baking goods and jellies and also again fantastic sandwiches.
