I’ve been in the business for over 4 years selling Toyota myself. I recently moved and was looking to purchase a used Tacoma. I had tried to reach out to the store over 8 times myself. Between waiting on hold and dealing with 4 different sales people that would not get back to me or send me a single picture of the truck of interest I feel I have definitely wasted my time shopping here. Management was extremely rude and was the personification of a pushy car dealership. Peterson is still tacking on thousands of dollars on top of their listed price as if it is still 2020. The market is changing vastly and I do not think this dealership is completely aware of that. If you want to save yourself some time and frustration I would consider shopping at another store such as Massey Toyota where I have been treated with respect and efficiency. No I do not work there. When trying to go over pricing with a sales manager I felt as though very little information was being disclosed to me and felt as though they were doing me a service by selling cars. Again I’ve sold Toyota for over 4 years and just left the business about a month ago due to better opportunities and I myself would never treat a customer in the way I was. Just a reminder to the store that this is just a dealership and this is the reason they catch the reputation they do.

I recently bought a car from this dealership. The car was having difficulties which was taking forever to be fixed. I was very frustrated but the dealership ended up giving me my money back and getting me into a different vehicle.

If your windows are tinted don’t let them inspect it because they’ll tell you 13.85 and charge you 23.85. Never again

I hesitated to write this review. In general, I try to give businesses and customer service workers the benefit of the doubt. However, my experience with Peterson Toyota was bad enough that I strongly feel it deserves making note of.
To begin, if you are interested in purchasing a car with this company do not give them your information unless you are prepared to be harassed multiple times a day with automated messages from robots/AI. I replied to several emails and several text messages with questions and stating that I could not speak on the phone due to working in a secure facility and to please reply via email. I continued to receive multiple phone calls a day (that I could not answer) and the only replies I received on email or text had no human behind them. They said things like, "Have we answered all your questions?" This was frustrating to say the least but it was just the be beginning.
I finally connected with a human being and when I arrived the sales person had me give him the run down of what I was looking for. Then, called another person over to tell them the exact same information. I was explicitly clear with both gentleman what my budget was, most especially what the top of my budget was. They brought out a car for me to test drive. I liked it and my husband really liked it. I asked the salesperson if there were any other options. I was told there were NO other options in my budget with the features that I wanted. I asked again, is there nothing else I can see and told again, no, this was it. Again, my husband really liked it, so I said let's run the numbers.
The salesman came back with my "options". The lowest available payment was $140 over what I had communicated my budget was. At this point, had he said something along the lines of, "I'm sorry we thought this would be in your budget but turns out it wasn't, can I show you some other options?" I would have been interested in moving forward. However, instead he went over the payment "options" as if nothing was amiss. When he finished, he asked which option I wanted and when I said "none" seemed absolutely shocked and acted as if this was the first time he had heard of my budget that at that point I had communicated three times. It wasn't just that the car ended up not being in my budget. It was the audacity of the gentleman to look me straight in the eye and tell me it was the first he had heard of it. It was disrespectful and gaslight-y. It made me lose all trust in the dealership and the process.
Suddenly, there were many more vehicle options they wanted me to see but by this point I was disappointed, exhausted, and just overall done with the situation. I asked for my keys back for my car which they had taken to look at for trade in value. I asked 2 more times and still was not given my keys. Finally, my husband had to ask for them. For some reason they needed a male voice in order to hear and understand the request. Maybe my voice is just hard to hear? Perhaps if he had been the one to communicate our budget, they would have listened.
For some reason, days after I was there after no additional communication between me and any person associated with the dealership - someone decided to run my credit again multiple times. Why? I have no idea. I would still love to hear some kind of explanation. When I got the alert that it had happened, I called and asked to speak with some kind of manager - any kind of manager. I was transferred to the receptionist. She did not tell me she was the receptionist until I asked. I left a message asking to be contacted by a manager and it's been radio silence.
In summary, I am relatively new to the area and Peterson Toyota came highly recommended to me from someone I trust. However, based on my experience I have no desire to ever do business with this dealership again. I hope that if someone with any power there reads t
