I used to love harbor freight but frankly they're losing touch with what made them great. Cheap, mid grade tools that could be used as disposable if necessary. Ever since Icon was introduced, they've been slowly doing away with the lower end stuff that made them attractive in the first place. Don't get me wrong, I love that they're going after high end tool brands for a lower price point, but we don't always need high end tools.
1st of all they recently rolled out a new line of tool boxes that are significantly more expensive than the old ones and have worse drawer latches.
2nd, they like to do deals like the one I missed out on today. Buy a 3ah bauer battery and a particular charger and get a tool for free. Great deal! They have the tools, they have the batteries, the chargers are sold out. An employee tells me they only ever had a handful in stock in the first place and trucks come every two weeks. He also can't give me the deal without the charger, I asked cause I didn't really need the charger I just wanted the tool and an extra battery. They do this on purpose to limit the number of people that can get the deal.
I'm reaching the point that I don't even want to shop here anymore. Do better Harbor Freight.

If you need a tool fast and cheap for one or two-time project, you can't beat a Harbor Freight tool. Their warrior line holds up well for short projects and I've had some of the items for several projects and they're still doing well. I have bought several Bauer items and they seem good for the price. Haven't purchased any Hercules yet. If you need hardware with your tools, plan on another stop. They do offer an extremely small selection of hardware variety packs but it's in the name...Harbor Freight TOOLS.
These they do have at decent quality and price.

The staff was okay a little snarky was one person. Told me to go to other register. Then she checked out two other people. I was like oh my goodness what did I do to her. I don’t think I will ever be able to go back to that one. If you don’t like the public don’t work in one

Cashier Jeanie refuses bag purchases. This is my second experience with it. She tells me where the bags are as if I work for Harbor Freight. What happened to customer service?
I won't be back. Many people are okay with where society is going with self checkout and things, but I am not. I like that they (used to) greet you when you come in and the little things. Price is not my main motivation. If I'm forced to bag my own stuff, I may as well go to Lowe's up the road where the selection is a lot better
