Got stuck in a nasty rain storm on our motorcycles, pulled in, and Tammy was the best! She even put a pot of coffee on so we could warm up. Very much looking forward to trying the grill on our next trip through.

I frequent this locally owned & operated store, which is in my community of Gamewell, NC.
I've eaten & enjoy many of their menu choices except plated meals. I usually take my food home, but occasionally choose to eat there.
However, that changed about a week ago when I decided to try Ellie's Rib Eye Steak dinner. One bite of the steak forever changed my mind about getting a steak dinner at a Cafe, as opposed to a steak house.
The ribeye was thick, juicy, tender, cooked perfectly medium-rare, & the taste was superb. I had Ellie's great thick cut fries as a side & they were delicious; crispy outside with a buttery tasting inside that was a pleasure to eat.( Fries NOT greasy!) The rib eye was thick & took up most of the plate. There was no need to add salt, pepper, or use any condiment on the steak.
I have a healthy appetite but was unable to finish the meal. I took home 1/3 of steak & the bread, which provided me with an easy supper of tasty leftovers.
Ellie's has that little country store feel, which I enjoy, so I chose to eat there & was glad that I did.
More pleasant surprises awaited me as I explored the store while waiting for my meal to be prepared.

My husband and I have eaten here several times and the food has been excellent each time. They have one of the best cheeseburgers I've ever had and I've had a lot of cheeseburgers. The prices are good and the service is good. We will be back!

Great food and great prices on convince items but their food is absolute delicious EVERYTIME. They have a great and large menu. The food is always fresh and cooked by the sweetest ladies.

The cafe inside serves great food and has good prices. Service is a bit long during peak hours, but it's worth the wait.
