So far, we have a custom walnut bed and underneath drawers, a custom fly tying desk, and a live edge coffee table. All amazing pieces. If you can imagine a piece of custom furniture, Nature’s Knot can build it. Phenomenal craftsmanship.

When chatting with Marty about getting a few items made for my wife, he was very open minded on the ideas I had and went over different concepts on what they would or could look like and he really knocked it out of the park. He built my wife two small jewelry boxes, a live edge mirror for our master bathroom, a cross and a cutting board. With things like this, you get what you pay for and the quality is A1.

My husband and I recently
commissioned Marty to make us a live edge dining table and two coffee tables from some precious walnut wood that came from my husband's family farm.
The walnut tree had been planted by his great grandfather in the 1800's and fell during a hurricane in VA. We
collaborated with Marty and discussed lots of designs. He was creative and thoughtful and listened to our ideas with much respect. The finished product is beautiful. It is beyond our expectations.
The construction is solid and his use of different woods is amazing. Our two children are thrilled to have a piece of family legacy (coffee tables). These pieces will forever be heirlooms. We were so impressed with the
workmanship that we commissioned Marty to make a headboard from some walnut wood scrap pieces. He delivered another gorgeous product. I highly recommend this artisan and skilled woodworker. Marty was a pleasure to work with. He is thoughtful, creative, respectful and obviously talented.

I am excited to say how much I love my new jewelry cabinet. It's unique in its design and handcrafted by the owner himself. He was an absolute pleasure to work with and If you want a unique item designed just for you, then Marty is a the guy to talk to!

I wish I could give him 0 stars. Avoid this company and "artisan" - he does not deliver what he promises, is not to be trusted and then does not correct any defects. It cost us a lot of money to repair his mistakes.
He is never wrong, it is always your fault. If you hire him, document everything - take pictures of the contract and designs, take pictures of the wood he is supposedly selling you to make sure you get what you paid for.
Like the other reviewer on Yelp says - he is arrogant, not very nice.
Do not pay him by check!

One of the most hateful people I have ever spoken with. He seems to be rife with conspiracy theories and a mentality that makes him a very angry person. He also presents himself as very arrogant. I don't think anyone should bring that into business. Having just moved to the area, I did a quick search wanting a live edge table. We found someone else to make the table.

We have worked with Marty at Nature's Knot Custom Furniture twice now. The first time Marty created a custom dining table for, the finished product was stunning. We were so happy with Mary's work we ordered a Sofa Table and two ends table, with the same end result, just really beautiful pieces. I would highly recommend using Marty, he's a local gem.

I had Marty/Natures Knots build me a bar for my basement remodel after realizing there was nothing out there that wasn't cookie cutter or cheesy. He did a fabulous job as he took what I envisioned, and some of his own artistic liberties per my request, and built a jawdropping showpiece! I even have a quartz and resin inlay down the length of the bar which is led backlit! This lies between live edge black walnut slabs. You can definately trust Natures Knots to give you a quality piece of furniture that will be EXACTLY what you want.
