We pick our own blueberries each year, delicious! Owners are great people. They have done wonders with the property and in the community.
Update....picked a couple buckets this morning, simply wonderful as usual.

We love picking blueberries here. Friendly staff, it’s gorgeous, and resting on the porch after is pretty nice too.

Great blueberries! Wonderful family outing. Huge tree for shade! You pick, $10 a gallon.

Great little blueberry farm to pick your own at! You have to take some pretty rustic roads to get here, but there are little signs along way that say ‘blueberries’ with an arrow to help. Google maps directions were accurate. Blueberries are $10 for a gallon. They give you a gallon bucket to fill so there’s no guess work. The field isn’t huge, but it’s big enough. There’s no shade while you pick, so hats and sunscreen are a good idea. The view, buildings and farm itself are all picturesque. The people working there were friendly and helpful. You can pay with cash or a card. Totally recommend!

My wife and I were trying to find something exciting to do for your daughter's birthday. We like to go to the mountains often so we started searching the Lansing/West Jefferson area because a friend of mine talked about how beautiful the area is. We jumped on VRBO and searched until our fingers were tired. I finally came upon Old Orchard Creek Farm and the pictures of the house were decent, but the reviews left me intrigued. I booked the house for December 30 through Jan 2. My family and I had plans to ride to Clemson and see Duke play Clemson but the game got cancelled because of Covid. So i called Walter and asked him could we come early. To my surprise, the family that had scheduled to come had to cancel so the house was open.We left for Lansing in the afternoon of December 28th and made the nearly 6 hour trek across NC and finally arrived and found the property to be amazing. Believe me when i say the pictures do not do it justice. The house is really nice and well kept. I texted Walter and he told me how to get into the house. The house has really nice appliances and is very cozy. The downstairs has a small kitchen, living room and bedroom (1 queen) and a bathroom. There is also a porch off of the living room that overlooks the mountains. Walter arrived a few minutes later and greeted us and made sure we had everything. He walked with me about 40 feet away from the house and showed me where they kept the firewood. This was probably a mistake because i know i kept a fire going the entire time i was there and used a bunch of wood. The upstairs has a spiral staircase that leads to a loft bedroom with a queen and a single bed in it.We asked Walter about things to do in the area. Walter told us about the trail that goes around the property. It is 2.5 miles and offers magnificent views of the mountains. We took him up on it and enjoyed it. It was definitely challenging with a decent amount of climbing but with spectacular views. On the next morning, we ventured out and went to the coffee shop the owners of the property own in Lansing, NC. I fell in love with Lansing. It is the definition of small town America. We went into the coffee shop and enjoyed some coffee before setting out for our adventures for the day.Notable things about the cabin/property:The property is amazing and offers amazing views of the mountains. The area is quiet. The owners have two awesome friendly dogs that will come visit you and spend time with you. This was awesome. There is another cabin about 40 feet away, but there were no guests there when we were there. When we stayed at Old Orchard Creek, we parked by an old barn where the owners keep their chickens and cats. We had about a 15 minute drive to Lansing to the coffee shop or pizza shop ( pie on the mountain), which was great. West Jefferson was a fun place for us to go as well. We went to the movies and spent some time there. West Jefferson was probably a 25 minute ride for us. We traveled to Grayson Highlands and Boone to sightsee. Both of these locations were not to bad of a drive from the cabin. There is a dishwasher inside the cabin. There is also a washer and dryer, which came in handy. There is high speed internet as well. There was only one single thing that my wife and I noted that we did not like. It was the size of the shower. In the scheme of things, this is not a deal breaker. However, i did want to note that the shower is very small. It does not provide a lot of room to move around.I give the property 5 stars. From the time we arrived, we felt at home. The owners were knowledgeable about the area, provided plenty of guidance about restaurants and places to go during our vacation, and made our trip memorable for our daughter's 13th birthday weekend. We can't wait to go back.

A little slice of heaven in the mountains. This beach girl was a little nervous about the drive in and out but all was well. The hosts were gracious and the atmosphere was perfection. Thank you for sharing your farm.
