BE ADVISED! They moved up the road, 300 yards in the same complex as the Jeep and ATV rentals but aren’t able to update their Google. I’d hate for tourist to not be able to find their fun juice.

Selection is limited (basics from majors), but the reason I left empty-handed was because the guy working the counter was a jackass to everyone who came through.

Spent this weekend in Lake Lure and stopped by to get a few adult beverage ingredients. I was welcomed when I walked in and was asked if I needed any help finding anything. I told them I was looking for some gin and bourbon. The woman came from around the counter and gave me some suggestions, told me all about some of the locally made options and was very knowledgeable about the selections they had. She told me they had a tasting not too long ago and everyone was very happy with and surprised about the Weldon Mills house gin. I ended up going with that and some larceny bourbon. The gin was awesome! And for about $13 for a 750ml, you can't beat it. I normally go with Tanqueray, but to me this stuff was smoother and better tasting. I'll absolutely come back here next time I'm staying in Lake Lure

So my mom's friend stopped by here to grab some vodka, and me and my mom were just walking by the lake until we saw a lady kneeling on the ground by some animal, we go over to take a look and she tells us that it was a muskovy duck that someone just dropped off by the lake. We decided to name him Webster and he was very friendly and wasn't scarred of us being near him, he just didn't like trying to be petted, he enjoyed the mini toast we got at the store and he came right up and ate it out of my hand. I'm not sure how good the store is but if you're ever in the area you should definitely go see Webster as he is a very good duck who enjoys mini toast.

I've never been a fan of state owned liquor stores or understood why they exist in a capitalistic society, maybe they are a precursor to the next prohibition era, shouldn't there be a constitutional amendment clearly spelling out the separation of alcohol and state? This location in downtown Lake Lure is convenient if of course you only need booze - if you need ice or a mixer you're out of luck pal. If seems it's the belief of the legislators that they definitely don't want you to have the ability to mix your cocktail in their parking lot I'm thinking it must be some insurance restriction or they don't feel we have the ability to be responsible anyhoo you can go to the Ingles down the street I guess if that's your intention - I personally don't condone this practice unless you have a Tevis cup or your ice will melt, beside why would I pre-mix my cocktail when I can't enjoy it until I get to my final destination it seems somewhere along the way our leaders were confused. If you have an urgent alcoholic need and I wittinesses several who apparently had, you can take your life in you're own hands and cross the busy street and get your mixers and ice at a business on the other side and cross back over to this parking lot - it's like playing a real live version of frogger (actually it's quite entertaining). Well the staff here was friendly enough to take my cash for a large bottle of Ketel One Vodka which I immediately stored in the ice chest in the back of my Jeep before driving across the street to get mixers and ice - I had no plans to start consuming any alcohol before getting back to the campground and boarding our rented pontoon boat for a leisurely ride around the lake that was of course piloted by our designated driver to ensure compliance and safety I hope you do the same...
