One of my favorite beaches (we actually got married by the rocks). There are plenty of picnic/cookout spots, restrooms and outdoor showers, a concession stand and beach wheelchair rental, making this a fully accessible and family friendly beach. Lifeguards are on duty most of the year and the gentle slope of the sand makes it good for kids of all ages. Just make sure to bring everything you will need for the day, as it is pretty far from the nearest store. It is near the aquarium, ferry terminal, and the south end(where you can drive out on the beach).Restrooms: Fully accessible (via ramp) usually really well stocked and clean (but a little sandy) with a place to rinse off.Dog-friendliness: Varies by season, check the website!Picnic area: Clean with shade and grills.

This is a good place for younger kids to experience salt marsh/wetlands with an easy hike. The Basin Trail (1.1 miles to observation deck) starts at the Visitor Center and goes through some wooded areas with dirt trails, sandy areas, and boardwalk across water. The entire trail is flat but some areas (sand and mud) would be difficult to push a stroller. It was also very wet and muddy when we went so rainboots are helpful. There are bathrooms, maps, picnic tables, grills, and vending machines at the Visitor Center. Vending machines take cash and cards.Restrooms: Restroom did not have a changing table.

Locals know this is the place to go to. Free access and 4WD for those who enjoy off roading. The gates close around 8 or 9 but you can still park outside of them and stay longer if you would like! The aquarium is close and there's lots of sights to see at this beautiful location.Dog-friendliness: Yes

Sand Bar in the beach, yes plz. It's a local beach life & tourist great escape. I love a good sand bar for in the middle of the ocean excitement, playing in the waves is a rush & getting to ride my boogie board in beach style. The beach is nice & clean.?Happy to be your local tour beach guide. Feel free to ask questions. The surf can be rough, be careful of riptide & the bluff rocky area that you see me in, in this video.Essentials to bring:?sunnies sunblock?swimsuit sandals?lots of sunshine!?smile, your toes are in the sand, life is good. Relax & listen to the waves crashing.#TravelVlog #TravelBarbie #BeachVlog #ugc #UGCcreator #ContentCreator #travellikealocal #livelikeatouristRestrooms: ✅️CleanDog-friendliness: Saw a dog swimming in the ocean then waiting patiently on the beach shore.Picnic area: Canopies, Grill & plenty of tables.
