1/2/24: I've visited this store twice in the past week. I had never been before. The store staff didn't really speak...even the cashier was really standoffish. She was not friendly. She didn't make conversation. She didn't even give me the total verbally. Maybe she was mute??? I don't know. So, because of this, I did self checkout the 2nd time I visited. The pricing isn't too bad when you use their digital coupons and catch good sales. Make sure you use your MVP Card and check their coupons out ahead of time. Use the self-checkout to avoid the long lines and rude cashiers, and go elsewhere for fresh meat. I found a blonde hair in my cubed steak. So, they clearly don't wear hairnets when packaging their meats. Nasty!!!!!

I have never enjoyed my shopping experience at this food lion because I almost always get hustled in the parking lot, so I haven't been in a long time, even though it's the closest grocery store to me. Convenience won out this week, and I stopped in and had a pretty positive experience with one of the employees in the deli/bakery area. Unfortunately, I purchased a brand of beer my husband doesn't like, so I went back to return it and was told I could not return alcohol even if it was unopened and I had the receipt. I checked on the food lion website and saw that it was illegal in a few states to do that, but not in NC. I went back in and showed the policy from the food lion website and the 2 ladies standing in customer service were so adamant they were right and refused to try to prices a return or exchange; so I left and went to a different food lion where they kindly processed a return for me. (I called several grocery stores to see if they could accept unopened alcohol returns with the receipt; of course they all could). I'll never return to that food lion again.

I love the new produce department in this store but they have the worst customer service of any store I've been in. The employees are rude. They have no desire to answer questions much less be helpful. I've yet to go in this store that I didn't encounter irritable people with poor attitudes.
