The day I had my experience with Northside was the dayy 11 week old teacup Chihuahua was having seizures. I was in the car driving to the first vet I could find and I called them in advance to let them know what was going on, and before I could even finish telling the woman what was wrong with my sweet Allie she bluntly interrupted me and said, "well you need to have $250 cash or credit card before we can even look at her." When I moved here to Kinston 2 years ago, under the dreaded COVID World Shakeup, they gave me prescriptions for my 3 dogs for the flea medicine Simparaca. I gave the orders to Chewy, who filled them. Now, all of a sudden, I get an email from Chewy that Northside Animal Hospital, will no longer authorize the prescriptions. The reason being, my animals need to be seen. They hadn't need to be seen in the 2 years past. Brittany informed me just now that " it's ILLEGAL" for them to give a prescription for flea meds without my paying an office visit to be told that my dogs are healthy and need only flea meds. I don't have the money for an office visit, times 3 dogs, just to get something I've been getting for the past two years, no questions asked. If lNorthside Animal Clinic has been breaking a law, unbeknownst to me, it's not my fault. I didn't ask for COVID protocols where you weren't allowed to BREATHE let alone upend the whole world. I just want my dogs flea meds like I've been getting since I moved to this state, all they want is money. I've given this place a chance, even tho I've heard awful things about it. IF I have to go see a Vet, you can BET I'll take my animals to Four Oaks, or Five OAKS, whatever it's called ?
