Stayed here for a couple of weeks while working in Kinston. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was good for a hotel breakfast. The room was clean. During my stay house keeeping was hit or miss. Several days they came and took the dirty towels but never left clean ones. It was like they got halfway done and then left. Really wish the rooms had a place to sit. The chair that was in the room is very uncomfortable. The rooms are not very sound proof, can hear lots of noise. Strong odor of POT throughout the hotel most days.

We had a room booked for weeks. We drove 7 hours from Knoxville and were told at 2 am in the morning our room was unavailable. This is the most unprofessional thing I have seen at a hotel. Absolutely unacceptable.

I’m here once a week for an overnight stay, and the staff is always accommodating in every way possible. Even when issues arise with my reservations -as things sometimes get mixed up since my employer handles my bookings- the staff (particularly Mr. Barrett, the general manager) are quick to correct them. Toni, Dennis, Rose and Kashon are always helpful and polite when I check in or check out. The entire staff makes my weekly overnight stats feel like a home away from home.

Had several issues with cards being charged double and nothing being resolved about it. Overbooked and had no room for one of my coworkers after the booking was for four people. Booked through a third party and was still asked for the original form of payment the first night. Rooms were nice and clean, but the staff situation just really needs some work.

Tile floors in foyers are frequently sticky and Ice machines are often moldy. Beware when you want ice! Rooms are usually kept nice and well stocked. I love the Keurig coffee makers. Most chains don't provide them. Location is very convenient to Downtown Kinston. Overall decent option for the area. Breakfast is usually on par and good.

I got called for a last min interview at 1230 pm for 130 pm I walked all the way from baseball field to the interview I was judge cause ain have a car and how I was dressed this girl did a interview for front desk she was hired cause the black manager ask her to give details about herself she gave details like she was on a dating app not interview and he hired her but I was discriminated again

I was working at this kinston nc location. I wouldn't recommend anyone to apply, the house keeping manager Kenya aka Keke, is very rude and obviously selfish,that's why she short of staff now. She curse me out and straight fired me for saying , that's why nobody wanna work with y'all cause of her attitude. Just cause I was trying to get my check after the time she was supposed to give it to me. I ain't get a warning or nothing. Rooms already ain't cleaned properly cause they want u to clean the rooms in 30 mins ,so there for all the rooms are just wiped down swept and mopped .that's it, basically using water to clean . That's why the rooms don't smell fresh. I could keep going on in on about why u shouldn't work or get a room there. But I'm going save some details for other reviews.
Noteworthy details: Do not try to work there if Kenya there

I want to thank all of the holiday Inn express staff for the most spectacular experience. They were all kind and helpful. I would recommend everyone whose visiting or traveling through Kingston to stay here. Room was very comfortable and clean. I will definitely be back. I also want to give a very special thank you to Chris, the front desk check in Staff. Me and my husband traveled all the way from N.J. for a funeral and Chris made extra efforts to have us a room for early check in even though the night before they were completely booked, so that me and my husband was able to freshen up and make it to the funeral service on time and to top it off dropped off a vase of flowers and a card to show the hotels appreciation for choosing to stay with them and offer their condolences. It was so heart warming. Also I want to thank the lady in the kitchen for the next morning breakfast. I've never stayed at a hotel before that really accommodated our food. she really put great thought into her breakfast spread to make sure that the pork and non-pork food was separated for people like me and my husband that don't eat pork. Thank You guys so much for the wonderful hospitality.

Always a good experience when I am there. The staff is friendly and helpful. The management takes care of the property. Good breakfast options were provided.
Rooms: Good rooms. Housekeeping is consistent.
Walkability: Close to Walmart and restaurants. Near main traffic area.

Housekeeping was phenomenal. Shout out to Keke and Damion. Thank you and God Bless you. Also the Breakfast was well prepared following the eating area, loving the red chairs and the huge television as well.

OMG don't even get me started there were roaches, rodents,rats, it smelled like garlic in my room yall charged me extra for A VIP suite I understand BUT THIS. Was disgusting
