The place is huge with a big assortment of items. It's a bit crowded in spots. Service was okay, doesn't feel like a local business.

PLEASE READ PRIOR TO PURCHASING FROM THIS STORE! I went in today and saw they had Hermit Crabs, and they were being kept in an awful environment! Keep in mind too that if given a decent environment, Hermit Crabs can live at LEAST 60 YEARS!!!! But here they would only last probably a week. They had NO deep sand which crabs need to burrow and molt which is shedding their exoskeleton and is needed to survive! Next, they had them in all painted shells which are EXTREMELY TOXIC AND BLEACH THROUGH CRABS SKIN AND CAN MAKE THEM VERY VERY SICK!!!! Not to mention that the corporation that catches these poor Crabs use nutcrackers to Crack them open force the crabs into painted shells. That alone ends thousands of crabs! Also, they were being kept in a CAGE which is awful because the crabs were freezing cold like the inside of the store! Hermit Crabs need to be at at least 77 degrees but they were freezing. A way to tell is when they are sluggish and have troubles walking. And, the food the store was feeding them has pesticides. What I don't understand is this store has TONS of shrimp and actually healthy stuff from the ocean like their natural habitat so why don't they just feed some of those to the crabs?!?!the "Aquariums" they were selling the crabs in had NO HEATER or NO ENCLOSED LID!!!! Not to mention they were only like 5 gallons which isn't even enough to keep 1 crab! Hermit Crabs are Gill breathers and need to be constantly misted and need access to both fresh and salt water. This store only used tap water by the looks of it and tap water burns crabs gills and makes them very very sick! If you guys would invest some money into a good environment, you wouldn't have to spend so much restocking crabs and giving a de@th sentence to other crabs! Hermit Crabs are good and needed for the environment but if this keeps happening their population is at risk of being extinct! All you need is a large enclosed glass aquarium, deep sand, which is literally across the road, two water pools where your crabs can fully submerge, treated salt and fresh water, fake plants for them to hid in, because they have compound eyes they can see really good and are afraid of being in the open and huddle in corners. You need to mist them with treated fresh water at least twice a day and a huge heater to keep them at around 80 degrees! An enclosed lid to keep the humidity inside is good for the tank. Please take these into consideration, and do yalls research before taking an animal into your care!

My Fiancé and I come here all the time for their lunch sandwiches, which are freshly made in house. They are so good! I have only had 1 bad experience in which the woman taking my order over the phone clearly must have misheard me and didn’t try to clarify. I ended up having my order made wrong which I didn’t even realize until we paid and left.

For 14 years, the Stop & Shop has been my second stop upon arriving at OBX (first is 7-11 for a Slurpee) The badge of honor (a window sticker for my jeep) is a must-have every time I arrive there! This year, I got a new pair of slides, several packs of saltwater taffy, some deli meat, some incense, and a few seashells! They sell just about anything you would need to hit the beach in style (including fishing gear) and most of what you'd need for your hotel or cottage to eat well...This store is located in the heart of the Outer Banks and a must-visit whether you are a seasoned beach-goer or new to the scene! They also offer many products made in the Outer Banks and those products are labeled as such.

They stole my $100 deposit for a keg. They said that you lose the deposit after 2 weeks. I asked them to show me where it says that on the agreement to which they replied, it’s not written down, but someone told you when you picked up your Keg. I knew I would have it for more than two weeks, so had I been told that I would’ve not gotten the keg from them and lost an additional hundred dollars. They said they would talk to the owner and be in contact with me without even trying to take down my contact information.Con artists.

Don't let the storefront fool you! This place has everything from bait and tackle to clothing, footwear, beach supplies and even deli food items that a typical mini mart would never carry. They even have an aisle dedicated to gourmet hot sauces and other condiments.
