Went to the Nelson St office to have an Estate tax return in April.The Tax prepare Jerry told us that the return cannot be done at their office and would be sent to a different office. What he neglected to tell us was that it would be sent to a different company. A few weeks later he set up an appt to pick up the completed return but when we arrived we were told by the receptionist that Jerry was sent to another office and neglected to call us to reschedule our appt. The next week we received the return, then in July we rec a letter from the IRS which asked for an explanation of the return. We called the office to help us with this request, our call was forwarded to Jackson Hewitt's call center. When we told them about the IRS letter they tried to get our information and could not find it. That's when we learned that the return was farmed out to another company. This was very alarming to us since we thought we were dealing with Jackson Hewitt. They finally put me in touch the general Mgr. A.J.We brought the IRS letter to her and she said they would answer it and send us a copy of the letter in a few days. After over a week of not receiving anything we got in touch with A.J who told us that she sent the response to the IRS and would put a copy of the letter in the mail to us. Two weeks later when we didn't rec the letter we reached out to A.J again and she told us she was out of town and would send the letter to us. Needless to say once again we rec nothing so we reached out the Client Care Dept. They were unable to help us and referred us back to the Nelson St office. We finally got in touch with someone in the call center who spoke to A.J about sending us a copy of the IRS letter. However what we received was just a plain typed letter with no Jackson Hewitt letterhead no reference to the IRS request letter's number, not dated or signed and no name on it at all. I'm sure my granddaughter could have written a better letter.I will not deal with this company again they are not reliable and their staff is incompetent. Wish I could give them a big fat '0' !!!

can I give zero stars? I had an appointment to get my taxes done and they even texted me to confirm it. I drove half an hour to get my taxes done and when I went in a very rude employee told me " we're not doing appointments today". And offered me no solution to getting my taxes done. Very sad , very rude employee ...this was on Monday April 17th 2023

If you do one thing in life right may it be having Jerry do your taxes!He did my mom’s taxes when I was just a kid. He deeply cares about people and it is seen in he work ethic!My mom religiously did her taxes with Jerry and now here I am an adult, married with kids and bills and school and I couldn’t trust anyone to get it right anymore than the one who took care of a single mom’s taxes and got it right!Never had an issue ever with our taxes and he asks all the questions and genuinely cares about people!Where will I do my taxes next year? It will be with Jerry right in this office and I wouldn’t have it any other way!Thank you Jerry!!!

Jerry Priddy was wonderful to work with.Professional: Tons of experience (15+ years), tons of variety in demographic served (so he can answer your oddly specific questions), and was very upfront and honest about what he was doing, why, and how. He answered all of my (numerous and ignorant) questions with answers that struck a great balance between "here's all you need to know" and "if you're just curious..." He gave me a few tips on how to save what little I made this year and then proceeded to go way above the minimum effort to help me, which was tremendously appreciated.Personal: 11/10 would have a beer with him. He comes across so strongly as just a decent person, the kind of person you want in your corner year after year. That, in and of itself, is a true rarity these days. Looking forward to many years working together.Thanks Jerry.
