I cannot express enough how much the staff of this place does for everyone that comes in, they work very hard and always put you and more importantly your pet at the top of their priorities. I have nothing but good things to say about my time there, and thank you to all the staff

If you ever need an emergency vet I recommend this place so much. I brought my little miniature dachshund in for some gastrointestinal upset and I can’t speak highly enough of the tech and vet that helped my baby feel better. They were so kind and took such good care of my spicy little girl. I can’t thank them enough for how kind they were! I also couldn’t get over how incredibly clean and sanitary the office rooms were!

From the time I called the office, I received excellent service from Janelle. She was kind, compassionate, and helpful from my first encounter with her. Her love of dogs was evident. My dog’s response to her was amazing. She attempted to make my dog comfortable during a stressful visit. Dr. Parker was friendly and informative. I would highly recommend this office for the care of an animal.

Cat swallowed a sewing needle. Vet gave several options. It's expensive, but you kind of expect that for emergency vet care. Very pleasant staff.

While I’m grateful, this was only 15 minutes from my house and we were new to the area and it was 1 AM and I was panicking due to my dog being in respiratory distress after having a collapsing trachea. I provided his medication regimen that we were already on and it was just renewed and nothing new was suggested and everything that I did suggest was either shot down or they said they don’t prescribe that or do not have that available. Are you an emergency vet and do not have a liquid cough suppressant or an animal? I have too many emergency vets with my dog who is 10 years old and noticed that the parking lot was empty and that should’ve been warning number one again I am grateful that they are an emergency clinic in this area and I highly suggest other vets in the area Opening up after hours. if I would have known what I knew now I would’ve taken the extra 15 minute drive to the emergency clinic in Swansboro, who was great with my listen to what I had to say gave us a plan of care, and also had to adjust the dosage of steroids, we were given because it was the wrong directions for the amount of weight my dog was. I did have to push for x-rays to be done at the Jacksonville office because when you have a dog with the collapsing, trachea and other issues sometimes the condition is agitated by them having an enlarged heart so I wanted x-rays anyway to rule that out, I know there are not a lot of things that begin that can be done for a collapsing trachea, but you do have to consider what medications there are out there in 2023 that could provide to an animal. I would suggest maybe the vets at that clinic attend some seminars on not so common diagnosis so when clients like myself come in, they are able to be helped. I was set away with a $530 vet bill and as soon as I got home, my dog was in the same condition as he was when I left my house initially which was awful so therefore two hours later, I had to drive him to Swansboro emergency vet where he was given new instructions and was only charged $200 so the prices are significantly and the care plan was significantly different. I had to be an advocate for my Yorky since he was born he is a KC registered and a purebred, however, getting his initial diagnosis of microvascular dysplasia along with the collapsing trachea, took a lot of time, and I made sure that prior records were received upon arrival I just think the situation could’ve been handled better And money could have been saved. Again I appreciate the x-rays being done after the initial request and we were able to use two of the prescriptions. We just needed a new dosage given because of my animals weight.

My husband and I took our elderly dog, Duke, in after he got into his seizure medications (Potassium Bromide), eating most of the bottle’s contents the night prior. He didn’t show any symptoms until the following morning and took him in the minute they opened. At this point, things seemed grim and he was showing signs of labored breathing, lack of consciousness, and no function in his hind legs. The front staff and vet techs were very kind and empathic, however, the veterinarian (Dr. PARKER), not so much. She was cold and straightforward, frankly making us feel like neglectful pet owners. We were given two options: hospitalize or euthanize. She told us that he has “ingested a lethal dose” and even hospitalization might not save him. They told us if we brought him home he would die, PERIOD. They told us he would suffer and urinate all over himself. They told us not to give him food, water, or medications unless he was able to stand! I tried telling them about loading doses, about the fact that nowhere online did it say overdosing on this medication would be lethal, as well as ways to treat toxicity…Dr. Parker had never encountered this before and instead of taking her time to call poison control and get herself educated about it, she advised us based on the ignorant information she had.We opted to give him subcutaneous fluids at the facility and took him home (thank God we chose to trust ourselves). We gave him food and water (he was conscious but not yet standing) and after a mere 3 hours, he was walking with assistance, went potty outside, and showed signifiant improvements. We received our discharge summary that made my husband and I seem like heartless owners who persistently declined their “treatment” recommendations and noted that we referred to the internet for solutions. I think the most disappointing thing was that even though Dr. Parker knew nothing about this condition, she still refused to hear us out or get herself more informed. This morning (24 hours after onset of symptoms), Duke is walking mostly independently and although he is still sleepy, he is very much alive and greets us with kisses. *I wish Dr. Parker could see the life she almost guilt tripped us into euthanizing.*We would come back here if the other doctor was in and we were having an emergency, as we’ve heard more positive feedback, but please do your research about your animal’s condition and proceed with caution. Trust yourself…you know your animal more than a stranger that spends 10 minutes with them.

Just moved into the area and had no idea whom to bring our kitten to; Google brought me to them. The staff was amazing and showed compassion, empathy, and professional all while being personable without egos! The next day/shift, pretty much the same, less one employee, but not going to let her drive my review/opinion. The doctors NEVER judged me or forced their thoughts on me. Wish they had regular veterinary visits!
