Ordered flea and tick for my cat from chewy, called Animed to see if they approved it, they declined my order and when asked why this is what I was told. They said we’re going to see my cat in June which was surprise to me as I had not made an appointment, I ordered the six pack of flea an tick I was told can’t you just order 2 cause we will see my cat in June. I said what difference does it make? She said we can give 2 doses , at your price I said no please help understand why I can’t order for the duration of flea and tick season made no sense and then I was I was rude to staff good luck your is going lose you business.

It took a few hours, but with any walk in place that is always expected. My dog was sick and I’m glad he could be seen. The cost was definitely reasonable compared to other vets in Jacksonville. My large pitbull has bad anxiety, and tends to freeze. The vet tech carried him back to the waiting room after his treatment, and did not even complain. I felt so bad! I didn’t get her name, but she was great. Most vets try to convince me to get extra services, or embarrass me for my dogs anxiousness. I’m so appreciative that they were so understanding, and truly seemed to care for my dog. All of the staff were great and the doctor was awesome.

They treated my dog for heart worm. Always took the time to answer my questions and treated my Charlie like he is family. I am very pleased with everything about this veterinarian.

I really don't know why this place has such a low review. This group isn't here for our money. They truly care about us and our pets. I literally was at a place to have our dog cremated and was directed to the other places to we got directed to Animed. They were so loving and willing to help us even if it is only to extend our dogs love l life for a little bit longer. They treated our dog as if it was their own and us as family. This is truly better than any big chain company. When we brought Misha our German shepard in she could barely keep her head up and when we went to visit her she was excited, wagging her tail and walking. This place was a genuine miracle. Thank you to all of the staff at animed.

If you want a honest review please, listen to this one. My daughters service dog, a 7 month old German Shepherd needed emergency surgery, I called every vet within a 100-mile radius of Jacksonville and no one would help us. All they cared about was getting $$$ as quickly as they could. No one would even let me share my daughters story of the abuse she has been through, of how much this animal means to her. We were on the way to have “Misha” put down and I made one last phone call, to Animed. The woman at the desk Kristi, was so warm and kind to me.. I was hysterical by this point but she let me speak and comforted me. We had our pups X-rays emailed over and even though they were booked they let us bring her in that very night. Some of their appointments were pushed back the next day because of how serious Mishas surgery was they needed to operate asap. They saved her life, they gave my little girl a miracle. They are kind, and this next part is very important THEY CARE! Like one of the women told me, they took a oath.. to do no harm to help animals in need, now how often have you heard a vet say that?? If you love your pet, and want to take it somewhere that it will be loved and looked at as it’s own take them here, to Animed. I will never forget this place for as long as I live. Very professional, kind and understanding. The above photo is when we were on our way to Animed, my children were distraught, now we have word Misha has woken up and made it through the night after surgery. God Bless this Animal Hospital

I made an appointment for my dog to get shots and it was set for 10:30 I waited over 2 hours before they came in to give them his shots. Not happy! And very unprofessional they did not apologize for how long the wait was. As I left my husband to pay for the bill I went to my car so I did not say any words out of anger towards them and they had the audacity to say to my husband that I "sure left in a hurry." Definitely a joke and he should know about. Will not be coming back here ever again.

DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMALS HERE!!!! We brought our dog in and they told us he had heart worms so bad that there was nothing they could do, and they told us he would live but a day or two more and we should put him down right then. We didn't. The next morning we took him to another vet for a second opinion. They told us he did have heart worms and whip worms so they put him on medication and he is doing great now. I almost put my dog down for no reason.

My dog hates going to the vet. We usually have to muzzle her during appointments. She was fine here! The staff was incredible and they even let me bring my other pup in instead of leaving him in the car alone. I really like Dr. Slater and the techs that were there! This was my first time there and i will definitely be going back!

I had my dog Ocean spayed today. I want to thank everyone for taking such great care of my sweet baby. I especially want to thank Kayla for easing my anxiety throughout the entire experience. From the time I dropped my dog off to taking her home. Kayla was so sweet and professional. She was sure to update me every step of the way with several phone calls. This goes such a long way for a nervous Mama.

Took my older St. Bernard mix in to get him some relief for arthritis in his hind legs. Stacy and her staff were all so professional and friendly. They were so gentle with Max who is usually a cry baby at the vets! They made the experience for him so much better and what Stacy recommended was exactly what i had researched and wanted to do. I highly recommend this practice and for those reviews where the person complains about having to wait, not only does this happen in all practices it's also worth it for the quality of care you get here. When the Dr and staff were with me and Max I never felt rushed. Bottom line this place is worth it.

I’ve been going to animed on bellfork for 2 years and have had several of my pets treated by Dr. Slater. She is beyond kind and caring for my animal as well as honest. If there is a problem with your pet she will find it and explain exactly how it effects your pet. The vet staff is also amazing and makes sure to greet you kindly and make the check in process quick and easy. The prices are unbelievably reasonable and the best I’ve seen in North Carolina.

Incompetent and apathetic at best. We've been using this veterinary clinic since we moved to Jacksonville from California roughly three years ago. Today was the last straw for me. Without fail, you can count on walking in, with an appointment no less, and being greeted by a vet tech that is either always overwhelmed, or just does not listen very well at the front desk. No matter if you have an appointment or what time of day it is, "there is going to be wait." It would seem that there is always a "fight or flight" response by the collective group of staff, where just one emergency walk-in essentially halts all business. Today, their computer system was "down", which has happened before, and apparently a fail safe training for those circumstances does not exist. It's bizarre that there is a delay in service since there is a literal paper copy of the record (and should be for appointments...hello?!). The clinic is managed by what it seems are high school kids, or at best, freshman college kids, still wet behind the ears, getting their experience. (I applaud young folks that start off in the career field they desire, but you HAVE to show you want to be there to help people.) There is absolutely ZERO sense of customer service at this business. Poor attitudes and excuses for habitually long wait times is just not acceptable. I waited one hour for the doctor, past the appointment time, whom honestly seems to try her best, but desperately needs help seeing patients. I literally needed one distemper booster--that's it! We have brought our dog here and to other vet clinics, where they can come up to you in the waiting area, and just provide the booster there and have you on your way, since an exam is not always required. Why are we wasting folk's time, and are totally ok with it?! By the time the doctor saw my dog, she spent literally THREE minutes giving her an "exam", which was not asked for, and provided the booster. Having arrived a half hour early, because I've experienced long waits WITH AN APPOINTMENT before, did no good. It's COMPLETELY ABHORENT that I was charged for an exam, in addition to the distemper booster, given the circumstances. I work in public service, and this is not how you treat customers you want to come back, let alone people in general. It's rude and disrespectful. I gathered a copy of our dogs medical record. We will not be returning with our animals to this facility. I have one star because when they do finally see you, they handle surgical procedures pretty well. We've only had good outcomes in that respect. I'll end by saying that I've never written a review like this ever before and I'm 37 years old. Today I felt compelled to share my experience with the community, so people are aware there are other viable options for veterinary services in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

I would give them 100 stars if I could. Two weeks ago, my beloved ginger cat was attacked by our foster dog and was seen at TWO different vets in town, a primary vet office and then referred to an emergency vet clinic the same day. They sent my cat home with very limited pain meds and absolutely no antibiotics - he had only had one dose of antibiotics over the entire course of care between the first two vets. He had four puncture wounds to his abdomen that punctured through to his muscle, they simply stitched him up with no drain or hospitalization and allowed us to take him home. We syringe-fed him, carried him to the litter box, administered his pain medication once every 24 hours. Three days later, on a Friday, I noticed he woke up completely lethargic, with eye/nasal discharge and strange breathing patterns. We rushed him to Animed ASAP as his normal vet could not take him and all emergency clinics were closed.Within minutes of arrival, they had my Figaro rushed back, started on fluids, sedated with appropriate pain meds. They were given the okay to do labs and X-rays, which they did. We were told that the lack of antibiotics and overall care he received initially had forced him to become septic - they told us that prognosis was poor but to hope for the best. Kayla and Sarah were the two vet techs that called us directly every hour that they had Figgy with even the smallest updates. They were very straightforward but compassionate at the same time. They told us we could call with any single question or even if we just wanted to know how he was. This clinic threw everything that they had on hand to save my boy, he was on three separate antibiotics and three different ongoing pain medications. Dr. Slater had said she was referring us to Swansboro Emergency Vet at 6 when they opened if he was stable enough to move because he would have the best of the best care. Even though Animed closed an hour or two before Swansboro opened, they allowed me to sit in the back and spend almost 2 hours with Fig - they will never know how dearly I will hold those two hours to me. Unbeknownst to myself at the time, they were two of the last hours I would ever spend with him, but that was not for a lack of care he received by these two vets. I stood by his kennel while the staff closed for the day, giving him lots of cuddles and affirmations of my family's love for him. All of the staff paid a visit one by one as we waited for Swansboro to open and told me how loving and sweet of a cat he was, they were all amazingly kind to him and I.Once Figgy was ready for transport, they helped me load him into my car with his crate - one of the vet techs stayed back to ask me to please keep her updated because she had grown to care for Figgy in the one short day he was in their care. I said of course, and told them how thankful I will forever be. My Figgy passed away two days later at Swansboro Vet, despite the life-saving measures, sweat, and tears that both Animed and Swansboro gave. Although I will take comfort in knowing that everyone at these two clinics did their best, his body had suffered too much because of the negligence of the first two veterinarians that I had entrusted. We made the choice to stop CPR after his heart gave out and the vet cried with me over the phone. There was nothing that could be done by either vet to prevent or reverse the damage.I messaged Animed to let them know what had happened this past weekend. After one of the hardest weeks I've had in years, I came home tonight to a handwritten sympathy card signed by each and every one of their staff. Nothing can bring him back, but their sweet words offered me a moment of solace and took away one small ounce of the guilt my family has felt over this situation. I will be forever thankful that they gave an extra day with him to let him know he wasn't alone and was immensely loved that I would've never had without them. This clinic and Swansboro Emergency are the only reason I believe that there are still people in veterinarian medicine for their genuine love
