I highly recommend adopting from Adoption First Animal Rescue. This is a group of people who are so dedicated to saving lives through adoption. Every animal is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and treated for any parasites prior to adoption. I love knowing that our new kitty was fully vetted before adopting him and bringing him home to our other pets. Every animal spends time in a foster home and all details about the animal are listed in their adoption information, so we felt confident Mickey would be a great fit. He is the best cat ever and we are so happy to have him as pet of our family!

My mom lives in PA and adopted her dog Piper from Adoption First and the process was so simple even though she lives in a different state! Her first dog had passed from cancer and it took her a long time to open her heart to the idea of a new dog, they were so understanding and helpful. Thank you Adoption First for helping my mom find her new bestfriend!

I highly recommend Adoption First Animal Rescue. I love the fact that the dogs and cats are already spayed/neutered, up to date on any current vaccines at their age and microchipped.

I’m giving this place 2 stars because one of the techs was incredibly nice. I had to drop my cat off to be fixed and was emotional fearing my car thought I was abandoning him. I felt silly crying since it was a normal procedure but was emotionally a wreck for that reason and I never leave my pets with anyone, ever. With that said, I don’t have anything particularly bad about them, but it felt very off. It didn’t appear clean or sterile. I usually go to Banfield and they are great. One of the ladies was snappy and personally, if I’m leaving my pet with you, you better be an absolute angel. You need to treat other peoples pets like you would your own.But the worst part is my cat has sores on either side of his mouth. They said a tube is not required so if nothing went into his mouth I can’t figure out how they would get there. I have attached photos of what his mouth usually looks like and what it looks like after. I will not be taking my cats there again. I want to be fully affirmed that they are getting exceptional treatment.

We've adopted two dogs, and have fostered over 40 dogs through Adoption First Animal Rescue. The team at this rescue is very supportive and has made every effort to help us succeed in our adoptions. In the three years we have been involved with Adoption First, I have seen many animals carefully rehabilitated from medical and emotional trauma, and others saved from unnecessary euthanasia due to public shelter overcrowding and underfunding. Adoption First's leadership prides itself on their dedication to the human-animal bond, and works tirelessly to find loving homes for all dogs (and cats) who walk through their doors. This rescue is a great community asset.

I have Adopted two animals from the rescue. Any issues or concerns that I have had I’ve reached out and everything is answered with a email or simple phone call. Simple understanding of how rescues work will show you how all the volunteers and staff work hard to find forever homes for the many fur babies!!!

Yesterday we adopted a kitten at an adoption event being held at the Petsmart on Western, the process overall was very easy, the staff was extremely nice and friendly and we absolutely love our little guy. However upon getting him home we noticed he was absolutely infested with fleas, there is no way this wasn’t noticed prior to him being put up for adoption as they were visibly crawling all over him and falling off of him. He had to be given multiple flea baths and they just continued to pour off of him, we have had to treat the whole house as well and have spent well over $100 in just all the flea treatment products. We already have one adult cat and now are paranoid that they could have possibly spread to him and the whole house as well, both cats have been treated and the house has been treated multiple times, we are just unhappy that he wasn’t treated for this absolute infestation before he was put up for adoption, even though they said he was it appears as though he wasn’t at all, this is no exaggeration either, I have never seen so many adult and baby fleas on an animal in my life and we have now possibly infested our house and other cat.
