UPDATE:Increasing my review from a 4 star to a 5 star for taking the most amazing care of my Catahoula as she experiences her first time as a mother. I truly feel like she has the best team by her side.Past review:Best prices out of almost all of the vets I compared them to. The only downfall is you sometimes have to wait in their parkinglot ALL day to stay in line. It feels wasteful.

We are so thankful for Academy and their amazing staff! They saved Luna's life! They were so helpful and understanding about our worries. The staff was upfront and honest with us about what was happening, what needed to be done, and the costs. They worked really hard to stay in our budget to help us out while saving her life. Every time we bring her back, everyone recognizes Luna and is so excited to see her progressing so well! We couldn't have asked for or found a better place to bring our puppy. This is the only veterinary office we will ever go to again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 10/10 BEST EVER!

Academy Animal Hospital has a friendly and knowledgeable, very professional staff who helped me get my German short-haired pointer healthy again! They charged me a very fair price for surgery to remove a soft tissue sarcoma off the base of her tail, and the doctor did such a fabulous job that my "Abby" hasn't even reached back to bite at the surgery site not even one time!!! I highly recommend Academy Animal Hospital for all your veterinarian needs!

The wait was 3+ hours. We were waiting to put our old family pet down and it was Terrible. Doctor came into the room and didn't even introduce herself. We called a couple times ahead to verify estimate and it ended up being $50. MoreHope to never have to go back again. Will pay the extra for an established vet practice

The staff and services provided are 2nd to none. As I pen this review, thinking back on how they went to bat for our miniature poodle(Genesis). We needed to fly to Trinidad and Tobago with Genesis, and needed a plethora of tests with different dates and times attached. Academy staff walked us through the process, in order to obtain the critical health certificate needed to travel. Their patients and dedication allowed us to obtain the document needed for travel.I want to mention Kate, who actually called the USDA and push our paperwork through. The customer service displayed over the 5 days, was amazing!!!Our family thank you, we are forever grateful.

They only accept walk-ins unless it’s surgery so expect to wait around 2-3 hours before even being seen

Dr. Collier and Dr. Lewis are both great. I know my dog and two cats are going to be well taken care of here. I don't know the techs' names, but I've been happy with them as well. The guy is especially good; my cats are usually skittish, but they seem to like him. They only schedule for surgeries; all standard appointments are by walk-in only. I generally expect a 45-60 minute wait, but sometimes it takes even longer. The quality of care and convenience of being able to show up on my time, is well worth the wait.On two occasions, I had to bring my Mom's Cat in for an emergency bladder blockage. For this there was no wait, and since my Mom has been a long time client, they were willing to do the treatment, and wait for payment until my Mom got off work, which was a huge relief for me.Eventually the poor cat needed a "PU" surgery, which seemed pretty complicated to me, but they did a wonderful job with it, and he's a very happy cat now, despite the horror that particular surgery involves. There isn't a whole lot of parking, but for the size of their waiting room it's an adequate lot. There is a huge pothole at the entrance, so watch out for it when you're pulling in, and for people trying to go around it coming out. You can wait in your vehicle after checking in, which is great for when I bring my dog, as she can be a little aggressive towards other dogs. There is a little grassy patch on the side of the building, if your “fur-iend(s)” need a potty break. The lobby isn't huge, but there are plenty of chairs and a TV that usually has cartoons playing. Some of the walk ways are a little tight, especially when the lobby is crowded. The door separating the lobby from the check out area, is a particularly narrow choke point where it may not be impossible to avoid walking very close to other waiting pets.I'm not sure how competitive their prices are to other vets in town. They charge about the same as the veterinarian I took my babies to when living in SC, so it's fair to me.I'd recommend this place to anyone. They are good people here.
