Most of the park is currently closed. Visitor center is open, but all of the camping and picnic areas are closed off.

This place is very remote way out in the middle of nowhere. Because it's so far out they have an astronomy presentation once a month I was told at the visitor center. I wish I had been there the night before to participate in that. Very nice walking trails all through the park for miles and miles. Great place! No charge to enter.
Restrooms: Nice clean restrooms in The visitor center as long as you come while they're open.

Absolutely beautiful, don’t forget to stop by the education center, the gentleman there is very knowledgeable of the park and is very friendly and helpful. Clean restrooms, plenty of parking, we didn’t stay at the campground but saw it and it was roomy , they have onsite firewood available for purchase and the sites aren’t cramped together, plenty of trees between for privacy and shade. We saw nutrias, there’s a rare mud dog that lives in the waters there. Plenty of turtles and saw the 100 year cicadas as well, the sound they make is eerie for sure.

It's quiet, the park is nice. Not much scenery that I saw. Good for a picnic. I did see the campgrounds. However, the entire park looked clean and inviting from what we saw.

Restrooms: Very clean
Dog-friendliness: Several dogs were there when we walked our dog around. They were on leashes or the owner was tending to them.

Great park for a picnic, children's playground, biking, and/or trails. There is good signage indicating where you are going, which is good. We did a 2 mile trail walk, and the weather was perfect. It's only 1 hour and 15 minutes from Greenville, NC, and only 1 hour and 20 minutes from the Raleigh area.

We are very delighted to our visit to Medoc Mt State Park! We had a lot of fun meeting and playing with Charlie, the corn snake resident in the park office! He is such a gentle and curious creature, very friendly with human! We also had a great time chatting with the park officer Alan. Would definitely come back to visit Charlie!
