LorieJean Duffy was locking up her store several days ago as we explored the town. We struck up a brief conversation explaining that we were on an anniversary/birthday trip. She suggested that we come back for a special surprise for our almost 11yo daughter. Of course my kid wouldn't let us forget, so after dinner last night, we went over to the Gold-n-Clipper as promised. LorieJean remembered us and gifted my daughter with her birthstone bracelet. Such a sweet gesture. Her kindness and hospitality knows no bounds because we stayed a while perusing the store and all the beautiful items they had for sale. We purchased a beautiful poncho, earrings and a turquoise jewelry set and left feeling like we were family. It's folks like LoriJeann who make me want to retire and move to Highlands, NC. The store has fine jewelry, precious stones and designer fashion, gold and silver, coins and bouillon galore. A must visit for any tourists looking for quality, affordable gifts for loved ones back home. Will be back if just to love on our new favorite Highlander! ??

It was the number one store we had to stop in, so we went there first. She had her eye on the prize, a beautiful Sapphire ring that was perfect in every way except a touch too big. When she told the lovely and very communicative owners she'd be back later to decide, they guaranteed her the ring without a single doubt. Fast forward to her return just a few short hours later, they had to break the news that the ring was sold to someone else that day. And from that moment, the woman swore she would never come back... Until later that night, it the last night in Sapphire Valley with her family and she couldn't help but enjoy the Mountain View and the company of her grandchildren, children, and husband of 50 years. As they all raised a toast to a wonderful trip, her husband pulled out a bow-wrapped box and said Happy Anniversary, Hunny. She knew immediately it was the ring she was talking about all afternoon and couldn't help but cry. Thankful for her daughter, who encouraged him to hurry to the store and buy it before she did, she got the ring! Couldn't recommend this beautiful jewelry store enough!! The owners were so kind and full of wonderful stories, the prices were great and I look forward to making it back again one day! Thank you for helping create the most magical moment of our trip - it really was beautiful.
