Don’t be put off by the appearance of the shop on the inside. It is in no way an indicator of the fast and friendly service you are sure to receive from the locally owned, one man shop. They accept cash and card, with a small fee, so plan accordingly.

My husband and I happened find this wonderful place during our travel to Virginia. We had an issue with our Winnebago onboard lithium charging system and therefore needed shore power to to refill our battery pack. We were unable to find a local State park with an available full hook up site. Also unable to reach Winnebago customer service until Monday we were in a pickle. While working out at a near by planet fitness, my husband decided to ask the owner of Family Quick Lube if we can somehow recharge our battery. He could have said no since we did not require any of his services but instead allowed us to park in a space to the side of his business and even offer an extension cord. I am unsure why other reviews claims that he is rude and could only chalked it up to some kind of misunderstanding after reading his answers to them. If we lived in the area and require any vehicle services we would definitely come here. I recommended this place highly.

It’s not a huge “chain spot” but this place is a local treasure. There’s a lot of automotive knowledge and experience packed into this small shop. And it’s affordable.

OK I wasn’t going to write a review but the more I think about what happened I think I will so just be warned and be very clear about what service you want at this place.I’ve been coming here for years and have been happy with the service I received on several vehicles I have owned. I’ve been treated fairly in the past and have recommended this place to everyone that needs an inspection or oil change.However my boyfriend had a bad experience as he went in just for an inspection on my recommendation.He had an oil change within the past two weeks so he did not need that service. He spoke with the owner and assured him he only needed an inspection and Bali agreed. However when he went to pay the bill it was much higher and he noticed that oil change had been added. He told The owner that he did not ask for an oil change. And reminded the guy that just 20 minutes previously they had discussed that very thing and Jose told him that he had just had a oil change and only needed an inspection. Well at that point the owner got very hateful and Said that services must be paid for in full or he was going to call the cops.My boyfriend again tried to explain that his car had just had a oil change and it would be foolish to have another one two weeks later. But the owner would not listen to him and the previous oil change sticker had already been replaced. The guy wanted his money or he was going to call the police.My boyfriend couldn’t believe he was being forced to pay for a service that he did not ask for or needed. And I’m embarrassed of how he was treated. I would never believe in a million years that Bali would overcharge someone and perform a service that was not asked for.Anyway the whole situation was very unfortunate. I’m not saying don’t use this business, just be very clear upfront what you need.

Get your car serviced here if you're looking for the very real chance of confrontation. Last year about this time, I brought mine in for an inspection, and all was going well until the checkout process when the owner and I were having a little bit of friendly banter about his business. I casually said "maybe you need.....and a year later, I forget the exact topic, but the comment I got in return was "What I really need is for people NOT to tell me how to run my business." What had just happened was absolutely surreal, and it was clear that the man was very susceptible to losing his temper. I kinda laughed it off, took my keys, and left, and I don't know if he even realized what he had done. Anyway, it's time again for my inspection and even though I drive right past here every single day, I'll never risk being in his presence again.

Great service!! Reliable and trustworthy. I have been coming here for a few years now and have always had stellar service.
My husband had a car issue a year ago and I told him to come to "my guy" Bob. Now it's both of our go-to. It's nice to have a mechanic you can trust.

The place was a little intimidating at first, I am a teenage girl there with my sister so it was understandable. However, when we met the guy we quickly realized that he and the place he ran was to be trusted. He was extremely kind and respectful, he didn’t make me or my sister feel uncomfortable at any point. He worked quickly and efficiently, and I’m glad we went there instead of one of those big scary buildings where all the people want is to get as much money from you as possible. He also didn’t try to take advantage of our lack of knowledge when it comes to cars and get us to give him more money. Overall great service and an amazing experience.
