I worked there probably 35 years ago and Dr Haggerty is an excellent surgeon and Dr to all kinds of animals. I don't know why all of these reviews have people whining about him. An excellent office staff too!

Brought my dog in today to be checked out. Everyone was friendly and gentle with her. Dr. Haggerty quickly identified the issue, came up with a plan, and closed out the visit by giving my sweet girl some head scritches. We were able to be seen the same week. Every staff member was very pleasant and helpful (including when I called to schedule). Our dog is usually very shy, but she was more comfortable than I had expected and was even smiling after the exam. Their prices are also very reasonable. We are very happy we found this vet. We are not friend or family (or acquaintance) of anyone here, I found them with a Google search.

I've been taking my cat here since 2021 when I got her as a kitten. I only used them for convenience initially. The staff isn't friendly at all! They don't welcome you in (me or my cat), and the assistant just grabbed my cat and stuck the thermostat into her like she was a stuffed animal, not saying hello to her or trying to pet or calm her down first! Who does that?? This was last summer. I've taken her to a new Vet that welcomed us with open arms! Dr. Haggerty was friendly but his staff needs some serious training, including the receptionist! I thought I'd give them a few chances but NO, not at the expense of the treatment of my sweet cat. UGH!! Won't be going back!!!!!

Receptionist was very rude. I just called to ask about services and explain my dogs issues and she told me to try a different place then hung up on me before I was done speaking.

Horrible service. I called at 11:54 am on Monday to schedule an appointment for my cat for Thursday this week. I take off work so I can get him seen by a vet only to arrive to a dry unfriendly white woman working the counter. I give her my information and let her know I have an appointment at 9 for my cat. She starts talking to someone else there and eventually lets me know they have nothing scheduled for me and I probably had an appointment at the vet on skeet club. I asked if they had any available appointments for later and without even checking she says no. Something told me to check my call log and I’m glad I did. I dialed the number I called on Monday when I scheduled the appointment and wouldn’t you know who answered. This same woman that just told me they had no record of the appointment. She then goes on to put me on hold and eventually miraculously comes back with a 3:45 appointment for that same day even though 3 minutes prior they had no appointments for the rest of the day. If there’s one thing I hate it’s messy businesses with rude employees that can’t do the bare minimum requirements of their job. I was on the fence about even booking with them in the first place due to the 4.2 star rating and I wish I had listened to my gut instead of having my time wasted by these people. I took the 3:45 appointment initially but the more I thought about it the more I refuse to give this business a single cent of my money ever. I’d much rather drive to Greensboro and deal with professionals.

Love this vet! Always makes time for Bella, no 3 week wait, the girls there are very friendly and professional. So happy I found them when I moved here.

I took my female Rottweiler, Sugar, in to see Dr. Haggerty on March 17th. He was so kind, compassionate, spent a great deal of his time just talking to me about supplements and arthritis that she has. We also talked about football and hockey :) Dr. Haggerty was so kind, authentic and legitimately cares for his dog/cat patients. His staff is also wonderful!!!I moved here from Minneapolis, MN and I'm SO happy I found this vet clinic!!! The prices are amazingly affordable. I had all her vaccinations updated, her heartworm test and got all the meds she needs. Dr. Haggerty spent time loving up on Sugar and was just so kind! We have most definitely found our vet!!!! Thank you Doc and staff, for being so awesome with not only Sugar but me as well!!! See you in a few months for more flea/tick meds ;) Thank you!!!

Deep River Veterinary Hospital is a wonderful place. Dr Hagerty and his staff genuinely care for every animal they treat. They're professional and very kind. I'm especially impressed with Dr Hagerty's practical, no nonsense way of thinking. He doesn't over prescribe treatment and you can trust that every decision he makes is in the best interest of your pet.

Took my fur baby here today for her annual check-up. Most people see her and expect her to be friendly because she's a lab mix. She's not friendly, and she gets anxious around people she doesn't know. I do muzzle her while at the vet. The vet tech was very good with her, as well as the vet. I felt sorry for them because of her anxiety. The vet said next time I bring her in, he can give me anti anxiety meds prior. Prices were average.

I took my dog here to discuss getting a fatty tumor removed. A few blood tests later and dr haggerty told me my dog was bleeding internally and "gave" him TWO WEEKS to live! Broke my heart and sent my world into chaos. I immediately went for a second opinion at westchester veterinary and they told me nothing was further from the truth. Unfortunately I am late in writing this review but it has been over a year and my dog is absolutely fine!!! This is malpractice to the fullest and it sickens me to know that my mother euthanized one of her cats per another one of his misreadings or whatever you would like to call it. I would highly recommend not taking your animal here and if you have and have gotten a grim diagnosis from this man, please get a second opinion. I will never return here for ANYTHING. I will add that his staff were very nice and sympathetic but dr haggerty is far out of line
