Warning: When using this place for FFL transfer your Firearm doesn’t ship to their actual place of business.Used them for my FFL transfer. I’ve never ordered a firearm online, so when my gun said delivered on the tracking information I went by there on my way home from work to see if i could pick it up. The woman in there named Teresa was a complete jerk. I went in and told her that I was there to pick up my gun that I ordered online, and she replied with did I call you? I said no, she said then I don’t have it yet (with an attitude). I said ok, I was just gonna check because it said delivered. I’ve never ordered a firearm online so i had no idea how it worked. Then she told me when you ship stuff to them as a FFL (she said using ups) it doesn’t even come to their place of business. They have to go pick it up. (Whenever it’s convenient for them). Then I said well does it change if it’s fedex?(my package came via FedEx) Then she said again, and repeated herself trying to make me feel stupid. I went back the next day and got my firearm and dealt with a Guy that was nice. I will not come back and do any business with this place. I work with a lot of people that love guns, told them about it as well. Also let me note, it wasn’t like they was busy. There was one guy shooting in the range and I was the only person in the store area. My experience with Teresa there was one of the most Rude experiences I’ve ever had. In that position you should be nice and understanding. Should not try to make a First time online firearm buyer feel stupid for simply stopping by your business! I thought that’s what businesses want!

The range instructors are super friendly. The range does have some age to it but well maintained. Don't get to go as much as I like but have always found a open lane when I do. Only drawback are the narrow stairs going down to the range but manageable.

Called to get information about hand guns and the man who answered the phone was the absolute best help! We are from Pigeon Forge Tn and have many gun shops there and they are not helpful.Unfortunately we are unable to go by there with our boys this time but they are VERY HELPFUL AND HAVE GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE

Me and my husband ordered an M4 from this location. The people were very nice and respectful and even gave us a great deal! 5 stars all the way! Will definitely return :D

This review is mostly for the concealed class, instructor was very knowledgeable however this class went several hours past the time it should have ended. I suggest bringing a seat cushion as chairs are not comfortable all and a sweater because the range is very cold. I also suggest to the owner to try and keep more products in stock, several people were wanting certain cleaning items that were not available. Also find a way to keep class time down as much as possible if class size is too big have a limit to how many can attend on one day 13 hours is just a bit long.

This range is minimal at best. It's small and narrow with a low height. So low that headshots on targets are banned. There is no sound dampening materials on the walls, so I suggest both ear muffs and ear plugs.

I am absolutely disappointed. Four weeks ago I went to the Hickory Sporting and Tactical store. I told the lady at the counter that I wanted to try out some guns before I made a decision to purchase a gun. She told me I could join the Springs Road Gun Club, rent the guns to try out. I went downstairs, joined the Gun ClubI for three months tried out the guns and decided on the Glock 42 handgun. I went back upstairs to the Hickory Sporting and Tactical to purchase the gun.

The people here are varry good that found me just what I was looking for and ordered it and saved me money everyone here treats you like you are important it doesn't matter if you spend five dollars or five hundred dollars they treat you the same do not go in and think that thay don't have much and leave that can get it and did I say that will save you money I got a great deal on my purchase I will be doing all my business hear

The staff is what makes this place. They are knowledgeable and go the extra mile for you. The in store selection is a bit limited because it's a small, but they don't hesitate to special order. They searched for the best deal on my FNS 9 Compact and shaved about 30 dollars off of the price I was expecting. The store has a nice sitting room and a relaxed atmosphere.

HST is the best place in Hickory NC to purchase anything you can think of for your shooting need. Excellent sevice and product. These guys make you feel like you are part of their family when you go into the store. Been going in and buying different parts for my AR 15 build and never seen anyone treat as they were more important than anyone else. David and Genia are great people to deal with if it is not there they will look until they find what you want or like better. Prices for their product are the best I have found in Hickory or surrounding counties. If it is not in the store they have it on the website and can get it in a couple of days. Thanks guys for the excellent service.
